THe vacuum comes on, but very little suction. We have check the wand and flexible tube, but there is no obstruction. This vacuum was donated to our auditorium and we have no manual. Does Sears repair...

You do not state the make or model of the vacuum cleaner. Assuming it has a hose, try disconnecting the hose from the machine. You may find your blockage there.

How do you change the belt if there is one for the

There is no belt on unit. There is a turn table motor and a turn table tripod or coupler. Either the motor is out or the coupler is broken. You can check coupler easy by removing glas tray and see if coupler turns around. If its appears ok, then t/t is probably out. This can be replaced by removed screws from bottom of unit and the complete bottom folds toward wall. Its in the middle with 2 wires connected too it.

The carousel stopped working. Is this a belt drive? Can I open the unit myself and repair?

Test the drive by removing glass plate and turning the three kinobs that stabilize the plate If there is resistance and a whirring sound then the belt is connected. If it spins free then a new belt is required.

some of these models were also direct drive and did not come with a belt, so its not always easy to diagnose. Cgef changed tactics mid way through the model!
Check that the wheels on the rotation ring arn't clogged with gunk, that can also stop the rotation and is easily fixed by waqshing in detergent.

Repairing yourself is not an easy job as the whole of the exterior cabinet has to be removed. if its not the belt it may well be the motor istelf that has burned out.

Please rate my help++++Thanks for using FIXYA
