SOURCE: router problems

Your laptop has the old password for your wireless router stored in it...it will depend on your version of windows as to how you can delete the old settings...usually you can right click on the wireless network icon on the bottom right of your task bar to view available wireless networks and go from there...if may be able to select "repair" there and enter the new password for the wireless router

SOURCE: i forgot my router password and i hit the reset

try admin in the user name and admin in password, both in lower case. If that doesn't work then disconnect all the devices from the router. disconnect the modem also. Reset the router for 30 seconds again. after pressing reset, unplug the power to the router and plug it back in. wait for a minute. now try to open the router page. try admin in password. If that doesn't work, then change the computer, try on other computer or delete the browser history, delete files and try it again.
If you are using Internet explorer, then go to tools , internet option, delete cookies, delete history, delete temporary internet files. Try again.

Can't figure out the ssid number on my router

Just log into your router if you need to know it's IP address. Go to the command prompt type ipconfig /all then look for the Gateway IP address input that into your web browser and then hit enter. Go to the Network Settings page and you will see you SSID and password.

If you can't remember your password reset your router back to it's factory settings by holding the reset button for about 5 seconds. For your model/brand of router the default IP address is 192.168.2.1 The default password is "admin" Once you are connected to your router simply run the Setup Wizard. Set your SSID as something you'll remember like "Mavericks Network" and your Password can be your phone number for example 3109876543.

Need password for our router

Go to the start menu, choose run, type in cmd and hit enter. Now type ipconfig into the prompt and hit enter. Find the number next to Default Gateway and enter this into the address bar of your internet browser. This takes you to the main page of your router. Each router is different but there should be a section called something like Network Security or Network Protection. There you should find the WEP key or whatever protection you are using for your wireless network

If you're looking for the password to get into your main router page, the default is usually either blank, password, password1, or the serial number of your router. If none of these work, you will have to call your ISP and have them reset your password.

I need the WEP number and can't find it. i will also take the WPA key as well. serial number on my router is CGN70F190345. MAC address is 0016B61033f8.

WEP and WPA are security measures setup by the end user. Please consult web or printed documentation on resetting router to factory defults.

You do not need the software that comes with any modem:

Reset the router:

To restore the factory default configuration settings without knowing the administration password

or IP address, you must use the reset button on the rear panel of the router.

1. Press and hold the reset button until the Power LED turns red (about 6 seconds).
2. Release the reset button and wait for the router to reboot.

To log in to the modem router:
1. Type http://routerlogin.net or http://192.168.0.1 in the address field of an Internet browser.
Enter admin for the user name and password for the password, both in lower case letters.

NAT automatically assigns private IP addresses (10.1.1.x) to

LAN-connected devices.

? Enable. Usually NAT is enabled.

? Disable. This disables NAT, but leaves the firewall active.

Disable NAT only if you are sure that you do not require it.

When NAT is disabled, only standard routing is performed

by this router. Classical routing lets you directly manage the

IP addresses that the DG834G v4 uses. Classical routing

should be selected only by experienced users*

? Disable Firewall. This disables the firewall in addition to

disabling NAT. With the firewall disabled, the protections

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy Holidays!

Hi, I need to unlock my belkin N router because I have misplaced the password and can not connect my ipod or any other technology to it... Can you please help?

Restoring the Factory Defaults
Press and hold the “Reset” button for at least 10 seconds, then
release it. The lights on the Router will momentarily flash. The
“router” light will begin to blink. When the “router” light becomes
solid again, the default restore is complete.

Then, use your Setup CD and go though the setup wizard and you'll be back up again soon!

Router password

Unfortunately in most routers, you cannot actually find the existing password. If you have access to the router configuration, you can set a new Wifi password.

Using a wired connection to the router, you will need to find the "default gateway" of your computer. To do that, go to Start>Run, type "cmd" (without quotes) and hit OK. Type "ipconfig" without quotes and hit enter. It will give you the IP address and default gateway of your computer. Now, go to Internet Explorer or your favorite browser and type the default gateway address into the address bar (no WWW in front of it). Hit Enter on that. If it pops up with a username and password on that, you'll need to get that from whoever set up your wireless router. If it was you and you don't know the password, you'll have to reset the router back to factory defaults by holding the reset button on the physical router itself, while you plug the power in (that may not be the procedure - consult your router documentation for resetting to factory defaults).

If you did know that web password, you can get in and click on something like "Wireless Settings" and look for "Encryption" or something similar, and there will be a place to enter a new password.

Resetting password ? Bell told me I would have to change my router password

The router has a built in configuration chip that allows you to work on the router from your computer. This is called Web Admin Console

Your computer's IP address is 192.168.10.4
The router's address is by default 192.168.10.1 from factory. (AKA the GATEWAY.. like gateway to the internet) This can be changed but it is highly reccomened you leave it default.

To access the configuration of your router
Go to internet explorer and type http://192.168.10.1 hit enter.
You will see a window with a webpage of some sort that has the Motorola logo somehwere.
Look for PPPoE or password setting... you should be able to navigate from here..

A word of advice.. enter your password, save settings, slick or or something like that..
then restart router (pull power, wait 5 secs, and then plug back in) The router has to talk to Bell for a bit to make sure it knows that you're authorized to use the DSL line.

Best Wishes..
