My 412Hot Rod Deville has terrible humming/white noise when distortion channel is on

It doesn't happen often but I suspect that the high gain input jack is defective. With nothing plugged into either input jack part of the signal is grounded and there should not be any noise. It might be that plus a noisy preamp tube. Try swapping the first two tubes to see if there is less noise. Carefully bang your fist or use an insulated tool's handle to hear if the noise changes. It might be an intermittent solder connection as well.

My Fender Hot Rod deluxe makes a popping noise when switching back to the clean channel.

This is because your clean channel only runs through the pre-amp section, requiring an increased volume level to match that of the volume of the drive section which is overdriven by the pre-amp circuit. my suggestion is to use lower volume level on the clean channel of the amp. To get any volume boost you may need to match the two channels you could use a signal/volume booster or overdrive pedal between your guitar and amp input, switching it off and back on when you switch back and forth between channels.

Fender hot rod deville 212 111. On the 2nd and 3rd distortion chanels the noise coming out of the speaker is very loud. Is this normal? Hard to play through the noise.

Hi. If the volume and drive levels are considerably low but you still hear a noise, you may want to consider trying a different guitar cable. The noise may be coming from a ground loop which is being amplified and overdriven by the amp itseld. I hope this helps. :-)

When i use the over drive it will switch back and forth between the clean channel. But when im on the clean channel it is fine.

Sounds like the overdrive switch needs cleaning (with switchcleaner) or replacing. Try touching the switch gently when in overdrive position - if that brings on the jump-to-clean fault, then you confirm the switch is the problem.

Loud static noise in drive channel. gets worse in more drive. Plays fine in clean channel. Drive channels do not seem to work. Amp is Hot Rod Deluxe 40W

The thing you can try is to swap tubes V1 and V2 which are 12AX7's... if major change occurs including loss of any signal, replace the one that WAS in V2 position.

More than this gets into the electronics and if you don't have test equipment it is not a DIY thing so you would need to take it to a shop. There are several components including FET's Q1 and Q2 and what looks like BAD engineering design around these particular parts that could cause the problem.
The bad engineering looks like tinkerers designed the circuit rather than an engineer. Gates of these FET's are left floating on the end of a 1N4148 diode according to my schematic... I have seen MUCH poor engineering or lack of in a lot of the audio equipment.

Fender HRD - clean channel works fine, drive & more drive VERY low volume, like a headphone across the room w/ all 3 volumes at 10. LED works fine in drive/more drive. All same w/ footswitch,...

Wayne, There's a time to take the amp to a pro shop andf get it done right. It' saves time and headaches, and also keeps you from inadvertantly smoking other parts or yourself. Now is that time.

The clean channel cuts in and out. The drive channel works just fine though. The clean channel also makes a rattling noise when it is working then it cuts out. Whats up with this thing?

This is likely a bad jack for the foot pedal, or a problem with the pedal and cable. The jacks are junk and even with the pedal unplugged the switch contacts on this jack will vibrate and cause your problem.

Deville 212 overdrive channel making Loud humming noise

It sounds like a filter capacitor(s) has failed. The electrolytic caps dry out and cease to perform allowing unfiltered power to reach the preamp sections and get amplified.

Being this is tube with high voltages, an experienced person should work on it due to shock danger.

I assume you checked the tubes for shorts as well as emission since a heater to cathode short could cause this as well.

If the footswitch is not switching correctly, open it up and check for any shorts or a defective switch. Sounds like it's a problem with the switch.
