Switch the printer on with the buttons feed and pause pressed.Press feed to display Sensor adjust. Press pause until transmissive is displayed. With the liner in the cells press on restart until a star is displayed next to the value (around 4.7V) press Pause the calibration is finished. In my opinion, you should check the size of your label and the distance between the labels (label gap) and also check that you have selected the correct detection (Transmissive for gap or relective for black mark)

Paper gap sensor

Ok, this is easily solved in 3 different ways

1) Driver: Download the greatest driver I know, the one developed by the NiceLabel guys: www.nicedrivers.com
you need to go on right click in te driver(Start/Control panel/TEC Toshiba...) choose properties. In options you will have the chance to verify the gap mode(continous/black mark/ etc). You can also calbrate your printer from there.

2) If your printer needed to calibrate, turn-it off, then, by holding the feed button, turn-it on and let go after 3 seconds, or after you see a light. It will calibrate automatically with your label size at that moment, it may also print the printer settings, so be prepared for stoping the baby.

3) If you have a barcode software(did i say I reccomend NiceLabel?), you can set the instructions on 1) directly from printer settings.

Good luck, peace.

Hi, I have a TEC SX4 printer which im trying to

There is usually a setting in your label software or printer driver that lets you choose between thermal transfer printing or direct thermal printing. Make sure your setting is on direct thermal.

Hope that helps !

Paper jam error message

This problem is a detection problem, due to a bad sensor selection or incorrect label size.

If the labels are white labels with a separation between each, select TRANSMISSIVE. If the labels are preprinted, select the TRANSMISSIVE PREPRINTED LABELS and set the threshold doing this.

With the printer in ONLINE, press PAUSE once, the message PAUSE appears in the display, press and hold on the PAUSE key, TRANSMISSIVE is displayed, release the key and press PAUSE until labels starts to feed, let feed some labels (5 or 6) and release the key. Press Restart and start to print.

TLP 2844 skips 15-16 labels then prints intended label

It sounds like they may need to set their "Q" values for the labels they are using.   If that isn't it, we may need more info - are they using Zebra brand or custom labels?
To start with, I would ask them to try adding these "Q" value commands: q456 Q152,24
If that doesn't work, then maybe they can provide the other info mentioned above so we can understand the problem better.

White space between labels

OK, guys, I spent some time with this, and you have to do this:

If you use ZebraDesinger, go to File-Printer settings-Advanced Setup-Calibrate

The printer will need approx. 40cm of the paper (labels) to calibrate where is the begining.

After that it was working good.

Just make sure, you have input correct With and Heigh of the label.

How to do that?

-get into Label setup wizard
-choose the printer -> click on NEXT
-choose stock type and stock name (I have ALL and <NONE>) -> click on NEXT
-set Height (count with space between labels, so measure from the start of the label, till start of another and Width. -> click on NEXT
-set other settings -> click on NEXT
-set width and heigh (this time without space between labels)-> click on NEXT
-Finish

then calibrate the printer and enjoy your work.
