This board supports uses Intel Extreme Graphics 2 for its onboard video memory but even Intels site does not explain how much memory it has or if it shares RAM for video memory. Your manual can be found here

Hi, I need standard spec info of VGA built on Asus P5GC-MX 1333 whether 64 Mb or 128 Mb. Many thanks & regards, Richard

you can use up to a maximum of 224 mb of your computer's RAM for the onboard video chip to use. You can install a video card with any amount of memory (which would give you a lot better video performance).

Your AGP aperture size is 64 MB but your "Onboard VGA Share Memory" may be set only to the maximum available setting in your BIOS. (You may already be at maximum)

1. Highlight "Onboard VGA Share" press <Enter>
2. Change value with [+] or [-]
3. F10 Save and Exit

My PC have no external AGP card. The motherboard is of Gigabyte company. The motherboard BIOS model version is 'Intel I945 BIOS for 945GM-S2 FA AWARD BIOS'. The motherboard can shear only 8MB in graphics...

it can only be done in the bios settings.
but you cannot get 128 mb. normally the onboard sharing will be set a max to only 8,or 16 or 32. maximum. only reputed graphic card company like nVidia or ATI radeon will give the adjustment of sharing memory of onboard vga to that level.
this can also be done only in the bios settings only.
normally under the display tab. or advanced tab in the bios settings.

If you look at this document http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d865gbf/sb/c3263401.pdf

under chapter 1.2.1 or 1.10 you can see that the audio use Analog Device AD1985 codec.

Now, if you look at this link http://www.analog.com/en/obsolete/ad1985/products/product.html you will see the details of the codec.

As you can notice the record portion is 16 bit while the play portion is based on 20 bit.

Let me know if you need additional information

Vga display problem

There is one pin/wire on the VGA connector that translates to the color red on your screen. If you aren't seeing any red, I would suspect that there is damage to the integrated VGA connector on the motherboard, or a component failure in the circuit.

These are great desktop boards.

The Video bus on these boards are shared between the integrated (onboard) video card and port and the AGP slot. This means that you can only use one or the other. When you install an AGP card in the slot it overrides the integrated video including your problem.

If you are good with electronics I'd take a look at the board under the scope and look for damage.

I would rist check with intel on the warranty. You may be surprised. I've had several of these replaced via RMA through intel. They are a bit older but still by desktop board of choice.
