Question about Hobart LT1-1 Dishwasher

Open Question

The problem with our Hobart LT1 dishwasher is the drain dump valve. The solinoid works fine. The rod that pushes up the plunger gets stuck. If we grease the rod it works for a few loads then when the grease wears off it hangs up again. The rod will hang up whether the plunger is in place or not. Our only remidy so far has been the grease.

SOURCE: Hobart SR24C-4 Dishwasher can't drain completely

If this is a new occurance, and not "since it was installed", it may be the drain impellor. Little fins on top of the impellor sometimes get worn off. It is under the lower wash arm in the pump housing. The only trick to taking the pump apart is not loosing any of the shims.

Go to page 12.$File/F43078.pdf

Also, (and most likely if the unit looses water during the wash cycle), any obstruction to the drain valve can cause it to not drain proper. The drain valve uses a little flapper valve to drain the unit. It has a rubber stopper that needs to properly close. The drain valve is at the front of the unit with a red coil and white plastic body. It needs to be closely inspected. (page 22)

If this is a problem since it has been installed, it is likely due to the running of the external drain line. (Too high)

SOURCE: E5 error - need to know where drain hoses are

tried to take off the drain hose, but could not get it off the back, only by the disposal. I turned if off and on about 6 times and ran the delime cycle with lots of limeaway. It got the E5 error on the delime cycle, but it worked the next time I tried to run it.
The manual does say to turn it off and on as it drains out the water. Takes a while as it has to heat up the water each time.

I have a whirlpool quiet partner 2. It won't fill with water. I have tried the trick to push heated dry/Sami over and over, but won't fill!! Help please!

Check for a solinoid valve under the machine. This shifts the pump from fill/wash to drain. Sometimes the slug in the coil gets stuck or rusted. Also, a float switch tells the water solinoid to open.

Take apart the solinoid that controls the water going to the drain during the pump out cycle you probably have a tooth pick stuck in the solinoid valve, hope this helps.

I have a Kenmore Elite dishwasher (2004) and recently it has been leaking internally at a very slow pace. When not in use it will slowly fill until the floor of the unit is filled and then leak onto the...

The water is admitted into the dishwasher through a little magnetically controlled valve underneath your dishwasher. This valve opens and shuts electrically. There is a little plunger in it that is pushed shut by a spring when no power is applied to the magnetic coil. Dirt can get underneath the plunger and allow water to seep through the valve. That is what is happening in your case. This soleniod vavle will need to be replaced.
This tip is about that valve and will help you to idenify it, find a replacement and install a new one. The problem is different, but the reverse is happening for you.

I have a hobart 135 welder that is not working right. The gas keeps running when your not welding. When you plug it in it sounds like something is running inside without it being turned on. Do you know...

This sounds like the gas solinoid, first, check the gas flow, this should be 12 - 15 ltr per min: if thegas flow is to high it will hold the solinoid vale open. you can reduce the gas flow to a minimum, then check to see if the solinoid closes and opens, if not the iether the voltage to the solinoid is too low or the solinoid plunger is damage, replase the solinoid. lets know .

As soon as you turn on power it starts to fill

It will look to the wash tank float to determine the water level and temperature. If the machine is empty, it will fill first. before letting a cycle start.

Horbart dishwaser wont dran

Its a hobart correct? The data plate is on the bottom right front or on the door when opened on the left.If you dont see it then its been removed.Regardless does the display show a wash then rinse cycle? If so and it doesnt drain you either have a clogged drain hose or the drain valve is bad or stuck. If you use this just to wash glasses your model is probably a lxigc. If glasses are broken in the dishwasher which they probably are the glass has gotten into the drain body and is obstructing the valve from opening and closing.I work for hobart and services dishwashers alot.let me know.
