Forgot what the password was for my router.how can i find out what it was?

The default username/password combination for this model is:
username: admin
password: (empty)

If you have changed the password and the default settings won't log you in, then you have to reset your router to factory default. There is no way of retrieving the password otherwise.
Note: you will loose all personal settings during this step!

To reset the router:
1. Put a paper clip into the hole on the back of the unit labeled Reset
2. Hold paper clip down for 10 seconds and release.
3. The router will reboot and you will be able to log in with the default credentials.

Cant find the password

Turn the router off.
Take a Norwegian paper-clip.
Straighten one end of the paper-clip.
Push that end into the small hole in the back of the router, until you feel resistance.
Put another millimeter (1/16 of an inch) against the resistance.
Hold for a few seconds.

You have now "reset" the router to its "factory" settings, including the "default" ID/password.

Now, reconfigure the router, both the "wired" and the "wireless" adapters.

Forgot my password how do I re set it

Hi friend,
As you have mentioned that you have forgot the password for the router, so you can reset the router to factory settings by pressing the "RESET" button on the back of the router. It is a very samll button and you need a paper clip to press it.
What you need to do is, you need to take the paper clip, put it in a small hole on the back of the router and press and hold the button for atleast 30 seconds.
Once you release the button, the router will come back to its factory settings.
NOTE: If you will reset the router, all the settings on the router for Ethernet and the Wireless will be lost and the router needs to be reconfigured.

Forgotten my password and user name, can't use Outlook as a result. help please!!

Unplug your router and leave it unplugged for 10 seconds. Use a straightened paper clip and press it into the RESET button hole on the back of the router, you should hear a click (like a mouse click noise.) While it's held down, plug back in your router, then after a few seconds release the paper clip.

This will reset your router to its factory defaults but any settings (including wireless settings) will be lost.

Im trying to get it back to factory settings so I can access it using the 192.168.2.1 IP address and I can't for some reason

Look for a small opening on the back panel, the size to let an unbent paper clip fit inside. Poke the end of the paper clip in and hold it in for maybe 5 seconds. This performs a hard reset on the router, forcing it back to Factory settings. You can access it via http://192.168.2.1 and redo settings.

Router password trouble

you may try resetting the router settings by pressing the reset button of the router at the back of the router, there is a hole at the back of the router, you need to have a paper clip or any ball point pen to press the reset button of the router. The catch in here is all the settings of the router will set back to factory default so if you will be resetting the router allo the settings you have configured and set on the router will be set back to the default settings so you might alos loose your Internet connection.

Default settings on the router's log in - nothing for username and password is admin. Username as in blank and don't put anything into it.

Cannot get past a user name, password window

Take a paper-clip, and straighten it.
Turn the router off.
Look at the back of the router.
Insert the paper-clip into the small hole, and count to ten.
Turn the router on.
It will now be set to the "factory" settings,
with the "default" ID & password.
Connect to the router's web-interface, and configure the router.

I cant get into the settings for my Dynamode wireless cable router

Reset the router to factory default, this way you can put in a new password and WEP.
**On the vast majority of routers the reset button is found either on the back plate or on the underside of the router. The reset button is on the rear of your router

**The reset button is YES! a TINY tiny little hole no bigger than a pencil point or full stop. You can easily miss it, to perform a reset you will need a paper clip or pin.

TO RESET, using the paper clip straightened out, push the end of the paper clip into the tiny hole, and push it firmly until you feel a resistance. hold the paper clip, & push & hold in the reset button for 20 -25 seconds (with the power turned on). after you have done this power off and power back on the router.

Now! the router should have all its original factory default settings, as if you just took it out of the box for the first time:so you should be able to get to the setup page and set the WEP encryption.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
