How to fix height adjuster on hoover runabout vacuum?

It probably is not broken. It only operates when you recline the handle into the vacuuming position. At that time it goes to whatever setting you have it set on. When it is in the full upright position, it will be in the highest setting no matter where the nob is set.

Eureka Optima Lightweight suction weak on bare floor, hose only works when dial is turn to floor?

I think it is normal. My favorite setting is the dial is turned to bare floor. If you set your vacuum to hose, then you need to adjust the height (do not set the dial to the bare floor).

Can you advise which setting should be used on different floors, ie hard floors and carpets, theres 2 different settings and I don't know which setting should be used on the different floors

Turn the machine on and look at the bottom. Turn to the two settings. The setting that stops the platten wheel from moving is for hard wood floors. If you cant tell, then setting 1 is most likely for carpets and 2 is for hard wood floors. Your machine is primarily a carpet vacuum cleaner, so 1 should be for carpets.

How do I program a Micronta programmable timer--I set the time to have it go on, but how do I set it to go off?

LCD Programmable Timer (630-0892) Operation Faxback Doc. # 17153 Setting The Time and Day Follow these steps to set the current time and day. 1. Slide RUN/PROG/TIME SET to TIME SET. 2. Press HOUR to set the hour digits. Pressing and holding down HOUR rapid- ly advances the hour digits. NOTE: P appears to the left of the hour digits to indicate P.M. hours. 3. Press MIN (minute) to set the minutes digits. Pressing and holding down MIN rapidly advances the minute digits. 4. Press DAY until the correct day abbreviation appears. 5. Slide the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to RUN. The colon flashes to show the clock is running. NOTE: Keep this switch set to RUN to prevent accidentally changing the time. Setting The Timer The timer has 14 settings (1-14). Odd numbered settings specify a time to turn on the appliance and even numbered settings specify a time to turn off the appliance. Follow these steps to set your timer. 1. Slide the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to PROG. The display shows the first setting. If you have not entered any setting, the display appears as shown in the illustration. 2. Press Event to select a setting to enter or change. 3. Press Hour to set the HOUR digits and press MIN to set minute digits to the correct time. NOTE: Be sure P appears to the left of the hour digits when you want to set a P.M. hour. 4. Press Day to select the day of the week for this setting. If you want the setting to apply to every day of the week, repeatedly press DAY until all day indicators appear on the display. 5. When you finish entering the setting, press EVENT. The timer advances to the next setting. 6. Repeat Steps 3 through 5 to enter additional settings. NOTES: Be sure to set the timer to turn off the appliance. The appli- ance remains on as long as there is power if you do not set a time for the appliance to turn off. To replace an existing event, select its setting number and set the new event time. To clear an event, select its setting number and press CLEAR twice. Be sure to clear both the on time and the off time for an event. If you set the timer to turn on the appliance every day, be sure to also set the timer to turn off the appliance every day. 7. Set the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to RUN. NOTE: You must set this switch to RUN to turn on or off the appliance either automatically or manually. When the timer automatically turns on the appliance, ON appears on the display and the indicator lights red. When the appliance turns off, the indicator turns off. Reviewing The Settings To review the settings in your timer, set RUN/PROG/TIME SET to PROG. Setting 1 appears on the display. Repeatedly press EVENT to view the other settings. NOTE: To determine event being programmed, pull the power for a period of 5 minutes. Then re-power the unit. The first event will be "ON" and the next will be "OFF", etc. There will be a number to the side of the display that tells you which event you are programming, The even numbers are "OFF" and the odd numbers are "ON" events. I have a Uni-com wireless doorbell, model 55075/SC352R. I would like instructions as I'm not finding it easy to reset things and have inadvertantly set the alarm and don't know how to turn it off!

With the display in normal mode showing the time, date and temperature and with the double dots flashing each second, press the MODE button. The first press will give you the option for setting 12 or 24 hours on the time display. The second press should bring up the setting for the alarm time. Press the SET button once and it flashes the hour for the alarm. Press it again and the minutes for the alarm will show. Pressing the SET button a third time lets you set the number for each musical tone choices for the alarm. A fourth press will ' set' the alarm so the alarm time will show, plus the number representing the ring tone you selected below the alarm time. Normally what you would do next is press MODE again 3 times to return to the ordinary time display. But if you want the alarm off, instead of doing this, press SET a fifth time and this will set the alarm time to 'off' and the display for the alarm will show '-:--' now press MODE 3 times or until you see the ordinary time display with the double dots flashing. You can check the alarm is off by pressing the ALARM button - it should still show '-:--'. The ALARM button is only for showing the alarm time which has been set, not for actually doing the setting. A quicker way, starting from the normal display with the seconds flashing on the time, is to just press the ALARM button once, then press SET 5 times then MODE 3 times.

These height adjustments are designed so that they will not adjust when the handle is in the "back" position. This is so they will stay where they are set and not self-adjust while you are vacuuming. To change the setting, you need to return the handle to the upright position and the adjust the setting and the machine will go to that position when the handle is lowered.
