Computer keeps crashing. Error screens tell me there is a compatibility issue with the Catalyst driver for my video card. Can I uninstall the Catalyst Control Center and just update the driver for the card?

Yes
If it is the latest driver you are using, try download the last stable driver.

Better if I new what operating system try uninstalling your card and seeing if your operating system is compatable.sometimes if its not you can install and go on line and find a free driver download that is.

ATI Radeon HD 3200 conflict with NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT driver

To solve this problem, uninstall the old driver, the ATI Radeon, it will not cause a problem when you uninstall it. After the uninstall, restart the computer and then install the support cd for the NVIDIA Geforce 9500 GT.

Roll back the drivers to the original that worked and leave it there. Some times an update acts more like a downdate and screws things up. If your getting blue screens, its a hardware failure and is most likely do to the drivers just not being compatible with your system config.

You could also try updating the BIOS on the mainboard and see if that improves it.

I had alot of issues with ATI's catalyst on my last computer. the program kept causing problems so i removed catalyst and installed just the drivers and it worked great after that.

Radeon ATI 9600XT video card

Try this, I just tested (2 days ago) an Albatron that arrived here with a 9800pro, crashing everytime they tried to play games.
I installed the latest drivers etc that "should" have resolved the issues...It made it worse. Updated everything including the chipset etc.

After driving myself crazy for several hours I installed the Catalyst 7.3 drivers... Away it went fine, tried the 7.4 (same problems as before), back to 7.3 and fine again.

So with Albatron boards and ATI cards, try the Catalyst 7.3 driver located <HERE>
