Question about Uniden BC92XLT Handheld Scanner

1 Answer

I am having low squelch volume with lack of receiving Fire, Ambulance, and police calls. It started Thursday late morning and problem still prolongs. My batteries went low early thursday morning and got home and plug in to charge. and when charge was complete, I unplug to listen and my above problem starts. This has occured before but was able to troubleshoot the problem. But now, I try the same as before and now cannot troubleshoot.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

My scanner scans really slow and does not play any of the frequencies I have they worked before

if the frequencies you had before were police, ambulance, fire ect. then they have all gone onto the new tetra digital system and so you will not be able to pick them up.

if its things like the coastguard, airband, amateur radio that you caan no longer pick up, then the scanner may be faulty.

From memory the pro 97 used to scan fairly slowly anyway, but if its scanning like REALLY slowly, say a channel every couple of seconds, then check the Squelch setting on the scanner

BC244CLT Base Scanner: can't hear local police calls only ambulance calls...

Chances are that your police communications have moved to a trunked radio system, while fire and EMS remain on a "standard" system for compatibility. For the latest information on active frequencies and systems in your area, visit www.RadioReference.com

Can not get our police channels to scan, the fire and ambulance work

If your scanner previously picked up your local police communications, it's possible that their system has been upgraded to a new trunked radio system - a system that your BC370CRS is not capable of monitoring. For a comprehensive database of active frequencies and systems in your area, visit:

What are the frequencies for nz emergency services

Congrats on your purchase... you should be able to get fire, ambulance, police, local utiltity companies, local tv station radios, and a bunch more... the best way to get your frequencies is online. Alot are posted for different areas.

go to google.com and type in your city, county, and "radio frequencies".
you should be able to get free lists of the different codes. Also turn you squelch down.. as soon as you hear static, turn it up just a bit to eliminate the static...that will be at the most sensitive setting without the static.

Have fun... you can also get a list of the "codes" that police officers use so you can tell what they are refering to. google for "police codes"

Have a blast and let me know if you need more help.
