THIS document may help in dismantling the case. Although it is for the HP, it may prove useful.

It looks like your battery is dead and you are trying to recharge it, thats why the heat. Try replacing the battery first, and see if that helps..

Alright so you need to pull all of the screws out on the bottom of the laptop. The casing will most likely require a little force due to any sealant that the company used if this is the first time opening it. you may also notice a little locktight on the screws that you have pulled out. You just need to run your fingernail or a flatheaded screwdriver around the edge of the panel and pry it off little by little.

Let me know if you need further directions or have other questions and I would be glad to do what I can.

thanks

Hp 4510s not charging

When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

DELL E1705 model. When connecting AC adapter, even before pressing power button, led in power adapter goes off immediately. Why ? The power adapter is OK. When connected with Battery, no switch-on.

Since the system is not working ion both battery and the adaptor it could be a faulty motherboard.. Call dell @18006249896 if you are in warranty.. Contact local tech if thr\e system is out of warranty....

Laptop no power A530 TM5600 PC CHIPS

if u have already checked the adapter then make a power drag trial, that is use the adapter with any other laptop of same voltage rating and if the lap works there is no problem with adapter as some adapters fail to deliver power at the time of consumption and gives correct multimeter reading. If the problem is with ur laptop surely u have to open the case, there after chk for dry solder and then chk power regulator ics ,chk short circuit of components etc
