Now my printer is not working ! Wanted to print your message to help me do all those things, but now it is not responding. As far as the digital camera is concerned, it used to be so simple . Just connect the cable to the camera and computer with the camera off and then click on Picassa and the newest pictures would just come on the screen of Picassa. Now when I do all of the above, old pictures are there, but not the new ones. Please help again .

You can transfer pictures to your computer first then picasa. Make sure you drivers and software are up to date. Then with computer attached to camera go to start menu, then my computer, you should see the camera there, double-click the camera folder and you should be able to see all your pictures. You can drag and drop these pictures to any file on your pc.
To select all, click the top left picture, press and hold shift key, then scroll down to bottom right picture, click on it, then let go of shift key. Now all pics should be highlighted and you can drag and drop all of them at one time.

I think it is time to update the drivers for the camera as well as the printer! You can download them for free from the manufacture's website. Download the files, then doubl-click them to install them into your pc's registry. Once downloaded, reboot your pc.

The camera drivers may not be allowing camera to sync with picasa.

You can use Picasa to import new photos and videos into a scanned
folder - from a camera, CD/DVD, memory card, camera phone etc. - in a
    few simple steps.

    1. Connect the camera (or memory card, CD/DVD, scanner, etc.) to your computer.

    2. In Picasa, click the Import button.

    3. Select the source of your new photos (e.g. your camera) from the
'Import from' drop-down menu at the top. Small thumbnail previews will
display in the import tray, divided into groups based on the time in
      which they were taken.

    4. The 'Import to' section lets you choose where you'd like the photos to end up.

      • On your computer: Select the destination folder
from the 'Import to' drop-down menu. Use the 'Folder title' drop down
menu to automatically save in a new folder by date taken, today's date
or a custom folder name. If you choose 'date taken,' your photos will be
saved in separate folders by date.

      • On Picasa Web Albums: You can import, upload, and
share at the same time. Select the 'Upload' checkbox and upon import,
your photos will be uploaded to Picasa Web Albums. Use the 'Add' menu to
share the online album with your Google contact groups. Let the members
of these groups contribute photos to your album by clicking the 'Options' menu and selecting 'Let selected groups contribute photos.'

Only want to upload the best shots? Just star your favorites while
importing and choose 'Starred images only' from the 'Options' menu.

    5. If you're importing from a camera or memory card, you'll have the following options in the 'After copying' section:

      • Leave card alone: The pictures remain on your camera and memory card.

      • Delete only the pictures that were copied: Only pictures that are imported into Picasa will be deleted from your camera and memory card.

      • Delete all pictures found: All pictures that are found on your camera or memory card will be deleted.

    6. Select the specific photos you'd like to import. There are several ways to select multiple photos:

      • Rubber band select: Just click and drag your mouse over multiple photos to select them.

      • Hold the Ctrl key (Windows) or Command key (Mac) as you select multiple photos.

      • Click the clock icon to select all photos taken during a specific time period.

    7. Click Import Selected or click Import All to import all the photos displayed.

the driver is a little tiny program. It allows devices to sync with your pc and let your pc recognize devices.

I have my S610 set to take photos @ 5MB. But when I download them to Picassa, they are ~1.2 MB. Is this a camera setting or Picassa?

Neither. The camera is taking pictures at 5 megapixels resolution. The file size of the image is only loosely related to the resolution. You'll note that your pictures are all different sizes. The size is dependent on the content of the picture. If you take a picture of a blank wall or a plain blue sky, the file size will be smaller than the file size of a picture of a cluttered scene, because it takes more bytes to record detail.

If you look at your pictures in your image viewer, you'll see that the pictures are all the same dimension (width and height), regardless of the file size.

Gettihg pictures into computer.

you should have been given a cable that hooks up from your camera to the ( probably ) F drive on your computer.once you connect the two, the camera screen will prompt you if you want to download.it should give you a few options on your computer screen as to where you want to download.hopefully picassa.if you don't have picassa, get it,it's the best and you can download it for free.DO NOT !! download your pictures to the olympus file as you have bloody hell trying to print, copy,or e-mail them.if you don't have the cable, then you can probably find it on-line or at a store like best buy.

I have an A 520 polaroid digital camera with a memory disc in it. I took pictures on it and want to download the pictures onto my computer. When I insert it in the drive nothing happens. what is wrong?

You mean SD card, right? You can insert the SD card into a card reader and then access the card from the disk driver letter that is assigned to it. Simply open My Computer (if Windows) and check the drives.

But you can also use a USB cable to connect the camera to your computer. Using the Picassa program from Google, it is very easy to transfer the photos to your PC.
