Question about Alpine IVA-D300 Car DVD Player

1 Answer

Screen doesn't display an image

Does not display and image on the screen. Touch screen makes the usual sounds when touched as well as the other buttons. Screen retracts like it should. Powers up like it should. Not sure what part to replace or should I just toss it in the trash!

Sounds like the ribbon cable inside the unit to the screen has become detached or loosened. May have to pull unit apart carefully to re-attach it. If you go down this path be very gentle as they have a habit of ripping...

Calibrating touch screen

Hello,
I believe I have the information for which you are searching! Please try the following instructions to re-calibrate your Pioneer
touch panel:
NOTE: Pioneer recommends using the supplied pen to make the adjustment.
Step 1: Touch the source icon, then touch OFF to turn the unit off.
(you can display the source icon by touching the screen).
Step 2: Press and hold BAND.
(The 4-point calibration screen opens).
Step 3: Lightly touch the arrow in each corner with the supplied pen. (The arrows turn red when touched; the calibration cannot
complete until all arrows are red. To cancel, press V.ADJ).
Step 4: Press BAND to complete the 4-point calibration.
(The new position data will be saved automatically).
NOTE: Do not turn off the ignition while the unit is saving data.
Hope this helps! Good luck and thank you XXX XXXXX JustAnswer.com!

SCREEN WON,T STAY LIT UNLESS I TOUCH IT

You are simply in blackout mode. This is so at night you aren't blinded by the glow of a screen. Here are instructions right from the manual to turn on or off.

Blackout Mode On and Off
When Blackout mode is turned on, the monitor display will turn off to
reduce power consumption.
This additional power enhances the sound quality.
1 Touch [VISUAL] on the main source screen.
The VISUAL selection screen is displayed.
2 Touch [OFF].
The backlit-display portion goes out.
3 Touch [OFF] again to cancel the display backlight.
To make the setting, set to “Setting the VISUAL Touch Button” (page
34).
If any button on the unit is pressed during Blackout mode, the
function will be displayed for 5 seconds to show the operation before
returning to Blackout mode.
While the backlighting is turned off, the function indicator
