I need find a free windows vista home premium disk for my laptop

Download the Windows Vista startup disk .ISO file. A .ISO file is a "disk image" file, meaning that it is a compressed archive of all the files that would normally be found on a CD contained in one simple file. Microsoft does not provide users with an official Windows Vista startup disk. Because of this, a number of services online provide their own for users free of charge. Download the .ISO (see Below) file to your computer's desktop. http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/download-windows-vista-x64-recovery-disc/ Put a blank DVD in your computer's DVD writer. Open your DVD burning program. As long as your program can burn .ISO files, you can use any software you'd like. Burn the .ISO file to a DVD by selecting the "File" menu, clicking on "Open" and locating the .ISO file from your hard drive. Next, click the "Burn" button in your DVD burning software and the files contained in the .ISO will be burned to the disk. Label your Windows Vista startup disk with a pen or marker and keep it in a place where you won't lose it. If your computer is damaged to the point where you would need a startup disk, you won't be able to use your computer to make one. It is very important that you do not lose this disk.

Control panel > Power options > Choose power plan> set to Never turn off display / Never put monitor to sleep
(For Vista... XP similar) Not sure about Win 7, will not be much different

DVD Issues, possibly the media being used, only real way is to try another DVD drive in the tower

I have another computer that won't start. the screen says - missing \windows\systems32\config\system use original setup cd rom select r to start repair I tried but it doesn't work

you need bootable windows disk or recovery disk.
Then set first boot device as your cd or dvd rom.
when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key to enter in bios then go to boot option then save settings.
thenh put cd in cd /dvd rom then it boot with disk.
Then it load some file wait for 5-7 minutes then it gives screen then press enter.
then followe the instuction.

My computer will not let me create a power point slide show

Just cause you have a new compuer it does not mean you have all of office suite. Look for word, excel and power point on your accessories button. You have to activate them and buy them for about $100 or so to buy them from Microsoft.

Rate this solution before logging off.
