Hi,
I suggest to put another dvd disc in both players and check, original dvd disc would be fine to test instead of burnt disc.
It is amazing that both players failed at same time, I guess some thing wrong with burnt discs so try any other disc.
This problem is not related with tv at all.
Let me know model number and brand of dvd player if you have additional question.

OK, so got same result with original dvd disc.
That shows optical lens need to be cleaned, take off top cover of dvd player and clean optical lens with good quality cotton swab gently in circular motion, put dvd disc in tray and play it.
If problem still not solved then optical lens will be replaced as it has failed to read data on disc.
    Thanks.

I can guess about time factor, it is not happened by playing back burnt dvds as burnt dvd is not harmful to dvd player.

My dvd player keeps saying 'incorrect disk' why? and what can i do to stop it?

I don't understand your problem.
Is it the TV or is it the DVD? You say you tried other dvds and the problem is still there. Looks like the TV is the problem. Sometimes it's hard to help people when they only mention on screen issues. How can first DVD say 'incorrect disk' and then another dvd, and another still say 'incorrect disk'? It just doesn't seem to make sense. Is the contents on the disk a computer recorded movie, film or home movie? If so, you have to record the film on the disk with a format that accept the DVD. Could the DVD be a Blu-Ray, can it play a number of video formats, DVD, DivX, KviD DVD, etc.? Try first with a purchased movie DVD disc, if it doesn't work, then the DVD is faulty. DVD players these days are meant to play a wide range of video format, including CD discs. If you have an old DVD player, you may not play latest discs. But if the DVD is incorporated with the TV, then you have to insert a new movie and see if it plays. Go to an appliance or TV DVD store and talk to them. Or you can purchase a new movie and insert it in. If it doesn't work, you can always return it. As you said, you've tried different DVDs, sounds like it is a separate DVD player. If so, try other movie discs. I get the same warning only when I insert discs with movies I recorded on my computer, such as Pinnacle video editor.

Hello, My Philips DVDR7300H has a recording error after burning to dvd - burns VERY Slowly, and then gets hung on 95% - then "Disk Error" and the disk is then unreadable. It reads other previously recorded...

This happens with a number of drives.
1. DVD Dye type - but as you have tried DVDs from a batch that works seems unlikely.
2. Some drives dont like +R or -R If using +R try -R etc. Also some drives have problems with RW's used previously
3. Drive head travel is faulty. Sometimes only recording a max of 4Gb or 90% on a disk works OK.
Good Luck

Dvd player says no disk

does it read other disks?
try a few difference DvD's.
if other disks work, the disk you want to read is broken.
if other disks do not work, your dvd player is broken and you should get a new one or contact JVC if it is still under warranty.

When trying to play dvd wont due to saying either unknown disc or defective disc

Hey,
As i don't know the model of your dvd player or the type of dvd you are using I can only give you a very basic response for possible issues.  1. you are using a "burned" dvd on an older dvd player. Some older dvd players can't read dvd's burned from a computer. 2. The lense is dirty, scratched or damaged.. if other disks work in the dvd player, than this option is out the window. 3. DVD is damaged or defective. Just like the previous solution, if the disk works in other dvd players, this option is out the window 4. The DVD is from a different Region. Here in Canada and the US we are region 1, if you get a disk from Europe or japan. they are region 2 dvd's and thus don't work in our north american machines. 5. Some older DVD players have difficulty reading dual layer discs - just a though
I hope those were helpful, if not message me back with the dvd player model number and the movie or type of disk you were using.

DVD player issues

Most likely the dvd is dirty, scratched, or chipped. Try cleaning the dvd disk with a soft cloth (chamois works best). Look at the surface of the disk and if it is scratched lightly, dust and dirt particles, fingerprints, etc will cause refractions from the laser light in the dvd player, which is then read as an error by the dvd player. Cleaning it with a soft cloth will sometimes help.

If that does not work, hold the disk up towards a light source and look for light coming through from the other side. If this happens, the disk is unreadable and unrepairable as the data source has been corrupted.
