My PTO cable with the spring on the end came off. I'm trying to reconnect the spring from the PTO cable but I have no idea where to connect it too. Please help!

Not sure what PTO cable you are talking about but if you are referring to your manual deck engagement lever with a cable and spring I may be able to help..This happened to a friend of mine..what you are going to do is lower the deck as far as possible and get the mower off the ground so you can early see the operation..then have a friend work the manual lever back and forth while you kids hold the cable towards the deck..this will, give you and idea about where it should be attached...the using a bright light look for some shiny area where the spring or cable would have been attached and wearing the paint off...Note. The spring and cable pull an idler wheel or spindle on the deck to engage the moving belt to make it mow, try locating that and move it by hand...it should have an attachment or holes, look closely possibly it did not just come off the end may be broken...good luck..

How to fit the mower deck belt on a ***** LT130?

The best way is to remove the deck from the mower. At this time you should grease the pulleys and spindles. there are four post that hold it. two on either side and one in the front. they are held by cotter pins. lower your deck level down makes it easier. you will have one engagement cable that just pops out it has a spring on it. then slide it out from the easiest side or pick the mower up and pull deck out . at this point it will be apparent where the belt goes and do your your other maintenance of cleaning and lube. factory says lube spindles every 8 hours of use. Then put it back under and re attach.

Blade still running after lever is disenagaged on Sears Craftsman LT2000 2010 riding mower.

the moveable arm that the blade engage pulley is attached to has a hole for a spring as well as the deck (or at least an attached immoveable bracket). spring goes there to bring the blades to a stop when putting the lever in the off possition.

I have removed the deck from a lt1000 to replace the mandrel. I cannot figure out where the clutch spring connects to get it back together and the schematic on the sears web site does not show how this...

You need to kneel down on the right side of the mower deck, look forward and inside of the right blade pulley. There you will find the tension pulley, with a piece of metal sticking up out of the middle of the pulley. Slide the end of the spring over that post and put the clip in the hole at the end of it to retain the spring. If you have not already retained the cable at the back of the deck, make sure to do so. If you move your hand back from the tension pulley at the back of the deck is a post that the shielded part of the cable is attached to. Make sure when you put the cable into the slot that you bring the collar back to the post and then slide the clip in place.

This should get you going again.

Found large spring at end of cable unattached lying on top of deck cover. Where does the spring attach in order to engage the blades on the riding mower? The lever is very loose and when checking, I found...

There are 4 pulleys on your deck. Two for the blades, these are the big ones on the outsides. To the insides there are two, one on left side is an idler and the one on the right is a tenioning pulley that hooks to the blade engage lever throught the cable you found. Look on top of this pulley and see if it has a piece sticking up. If so the spring at the end of the cable attaches here. Slide it over. You also need to find the clip that goes through the little hole in the end that keeps it from sliding off. Make sure that the cable is properly routed and attached near the back of the deck. If it is still attached, good, if not you will have to find that pin also.

If this is helpful, please rate.

How do you replace a drive cable on a toro recycler 6.5 hp.

Its a bit of a pain - but with ordinary tools, it can be done. Get the replacement cable first. You can see how the bottom spring wraps around the cable with a universal joint sort of arrangement. Remove the belt protector (three screws from the top deck; if you have a battery compartment, that will temporarily need to go. Release the old cable from the top and middle attachment points, then unhook the spring from the traction lever. You might need to destroy the old cable lock to the mower deck to remove the old cable. Remove the plastic cup next to the cable where it exits the mower deck. Replace parts in this order: New spring/cable to the traction lever, snap in plastic interface to mower deck, small plastic cup top cable attachment, then middle attachment. You might need to move the middle attachment after you give it a test run. Replace belt cover and battery compartment if necessary. A lot of steps but, except for a difficult fit to get the spring hooked up, nothing is really difficult. I paid about $30 for the replacement cable from a local dealer; Overpriced, but I wanted to get the job done today.

I need to tighten belt for the mower deck, how is that done? it is a 2004 craftsman 17.5HP 42 " deck. Can you help me

Each of the pulleys on top of the deck should have tensioners. These tensioners are usually the type which have a bolt for you to tighten while attached to the pulley. While you tighten the bolt, the pulley puts tension on the belt.

Replaceing mower deck belt on 20 hp 42 mower model no 917275660. Got the belt on. How do I get the cluch spring back on.

Are you refering to the spring attached to the end of the cable that runs up to the lever on the dash to engage the blades? All you needed to disconnect was that cable on top of the idler arm that's held in place by a 'hairpin' and the left pulley cover to put the belt on.

Cabel clutch

I think you're asking where the clutch cable attaches to the deck. It slips over the top of the mounting bolt on the idler pulley with a cotter pin through the hole on the top to keep it in place. It is the pulley that swivels to tighten the belt. Hope that helps..........
