1. Turn off power switch and unplug from the outlet.
2. Using a Flat head screw driver, insert the blade end into the lower slot of the belt access door to release the lower snap. Insert the blade end to the upper slot to release the upper snap.
3. Examine the belt for breakage. You should be able to see the pump belt looped around the motor shaft.
4. Replace if its broken or missing.
5. Once completed replacement return back the belt access door and power on the unit.

To replace the brush belt, as soon as you remove the belt access door turn the uni to the side while the access area is facing upward. Look for the red retainer arm that holds the brush arm and toothed brush belt in place. Using a Philip screw, remove the screw that holds the red retainer arm in place. Remove the black brush arm that holds the brush in place. Remove the toothed brush belt form the brush then from the pulley

Hi,
I need insructions to replace - 0df28a3.jpg
To Remove Broken Pump & Brush Belts:
1)Turn the Power Switch OFF and unplug from
wall outlet.
2)Step on Handle Release pedal and recline
handle on floor.
3)Remove the Tank-in-Tank. Set aside.
4)Remove the Belt Access Door located near the
Ready Tools Dial. Insert a Flathead screwdriver
into the slot nearest the handle to gently pry off
the door.
5)Turn the machine onto its side so the belt
access area is facing upward
6)On the bottom of the machine, near the belt
access area, is a red retainer plate that holds
the black brush arm and brush in place. Using
a Phillips head screwdriver remove the screw
that holds the red retainer plate in place. Set
red retainer plate and Phillips head screw aside.
7)Remove the black brush arm that holds the
brush in place. Set the black brush arm aside
(see illustrations).
8)Remove the "toothed" Brush Belt from the
brush then from the red pump pulley. Set the
"toothed" Brush Belt and brush aside.
9)Locate and remove the broken pump belt.

To Install The Replacement Pump & Brush Belts:
1)With the unit still on its side, loop one end of
the replacement Pump Belt around the red
pump pulley and the other end around the silver
motor shaft. Do not twist the
replacement Pump Belt.
2)Re-install the "toothed" Brush Belt first onto the
red pump pulley and then onto the "toothed"
end of the brush
3)Re-install the brush into the base of the unit.
4)Place the black brush arm onto the brush and
slide black brush arm into original position.
Re-install the red retainer plate and Phillips
head screw.
5)Using your finger, gently spin the replacement
Pump Belt on the silver motor shaft. If assembled correctly, the
replacement Pump Belt should rotate freely
around the silver motor shaft and drive pulley
without obstruction. The brush should also rotate
freely when the silver motor shaft is turned.
6)Turn the machine right side up. Replace the
Tank-in-Tank and Belt Access Door.
Assembly is now complete.

Is there any reason the water won't come out?

You need to replace the pump belt, that is why the water is not dispensing and you need to replace the brush belt, that is why the brush isn't spinning. Here are the belts you need.

I have a Bissell PowerSteamer ClearView How do I

I removed the pump belt and the brush drive belt for replacement. I can see that the brush belt has little ridges to line up on the brush gear. Its the pump belt that I need help with. The flat belt goes over the shaft sticking out of the pump, but the other end appears to have a channel that the belt fits into and around. Only when I put it togeather that way the belt is off center, does the belt fit up over the rounded (pink) end before the channel or is it supposed to fit in the channel

How do you replace the pump belt?

To install a new belt you need to unplug the unit first and flip that bad boy over so you can acess the bottom of the unit. You will need a phippilps or torks driver to remove the scres towards the front where the brush is. Once you pull all this out the belt will be attached to the brush and a small pin in the back. It is really simple. Hope this helps out.

Dont know how to change the belt on a 1697 bissel powersteamer pro

There is a great video on the Bissell site. 1 min watching it shows you how.

Basically you unplug it, take out the tanks, turn it upside down, remove the 2 red clips that hold the brush assembly, and lift the assy out, then replace belts.

Here's the address

I have a bissel carpet cleaner and the brush does not rotate when machine is on.

The brush roll is driven by a cogged belt, the brush roll will also have these cogs. If they look all right, then check the end of the pump, it has a dual pulley on it, one for the flat pump belt, and the other for a cogged belt. If the cogs are wore away or that part of the pulley broke off, then you will have to replace the pump. That pulley only comes with a pump.

Belt removal Bissel PowerSteam ProHeat

First take off the cover on the left side oif the top cover, then turn it over, remove the screw holding the red lock and pull the cap and brush roll out, remove the cap, remove the cogged belt, then you can put the new pump belt thru that slot, put over the pulley on the pump and then stretch it to go over the motor shaft. Then put back together.
