From Windows 8, Go to the desktop, right click the windows symbol bottom left and choose Programs & Features. From the window that opens scroll down to find "Google Chrome". Right click it and choose "Uninstall". This will run through the procedure to remove it from your PC.

Google chrome has over ridden IE8 - use google chrome to access mozilla.com and download firefox - alternative to IE8 - then after you've got it installed go to control pannel and uninstall google chrome.

this is a common windows error. if a certain application stops working like your google chrome. try to edit start up items, click on start, click run, on the run box type : msconfig. click ok. on the start up tab, click on disable all on the bottom right, hit apply or ok. it will give you a prompt to exit with restart. this is for xp, if its vista more likely the same but after restarting the computer, no prompt for system configuration utility will pop up. to unisntall the google chrom, if its xp go to add remove programs and click remvoe, if you have vista, go to program and features and uninstall it from there, if no go. use the microsoft installer clean up utility. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 just download and install it then look for it under programs and it will gie you all the programs installed on your computer, you can look for google chrome and uninstall it. that should work.
the software is corrupt, download IE8 or what ever IE you use and reinstall it, if you have windows system try google chrome................ its good and fast
