Question about Sennheiser CX 300 Consumer Headphones

1 Answer

When I used these headphones this morning, I noticed that the sound from one of them was far less powerful than the other one. I've tried different songs, to see if it wasn't just the song, but the problem didn't go away. I also checked if I didn't change the settings of my iPod, but that wasn't the case neither. I also switched them, so that the left one was in my right ear and the right one in my left. That too didn't work. I can't think of any moment that my headphones broke, I handled them with care. I hope someone other than me knows the answer to my problem, because I don't.

Had the same problem with the right ear bud and I don't know if it is suggested in the manual, but cleaning the mesh on the ear bud with a cotton stick dipped lightly in alcohol (almost dry) helped with me, the sound is back 100%.

I hope it helpes with your too.

What headphones impedance is ideal for pm5004,watt ohm output headphones for pm5004

Hi there!
Like almost all amplifiers, the output for the headphones is taken from the same main amps that drive the speakers, but due to the hi voltage they deliver, some method of reducing it, is used. The most common is to put a series resistor between the amp out and the HP connector. So, there's no much difference in amp behavior if you use Headphones of different impedance. And on the other side, a hi imp HP will receive less current but more voltage opposite to a lo imp HP that will receive less voltage but more current, in this way, almost the same power will be delivered to the HPs.
Maybe if you try HPs with different impedance, you will notice differences in sound, but as you can not choose the impedance in a certain brand and model of HP, you will have to follow your overall perception of it to decide which one to choose
Good Luck

Have you checked its speakers? If not, check them. If they are found OK, then there should be some fault to its audio output circuit. Check and replace damaged component/s, or, change it a card bassis.

Cant get sound from laptop to tv

Just to verify...you've made sure that your headphones jack will play audio in lets say, some headphones, or a set of computer speakers?

However, your T.V. may not recognize audio when using VGA. I say this because if you look at the hook-ups on your T.V., you notice that most sections contain audio and video together, not seperate. If the port is available on your computer, trying using HDMI, the single cord for HDMI carries both sound and video. One last thing you can try with your current set up is find a set of the red and white rca hookups that are independent of any other grouping, in other words excluding the yellow video or any other connections. If you're T.V. wont play the sound in that, then either your headphones jack is messed up or the T.V. just wont recognize it while using VGA.

Try this using a differeent computer. Some computers generate a lot of digital noise. Also use a lot of gain from the guitar to improve the signal to noise ratio.

My iriver headphone jack gives distorted or no sound at all sometimes. after jiggling the phones it seems to work but it soon moves again when i move everything else works well

Have you tried using different headphones? If they work, then the headphones you currently have may have some faulty wiring. If different headphones do not work, then there may be something wrong with the headphone port on the iriver.
If there is a problem with the headphones, the best solution would just be to buy new ones. It is much less of a hassle and much less costly. If there is a problem with the iriver's port, it would be best to take it to an electronics store and have them find out exactly what is wrong.
