The first thing to understand is that all the cooling in a conventional frost free refrigerator usually originates in the freezer compartment, just a small portion of that air is circulated through the fridge compartment to cool there. (Technically the opposite is true. Warm air is circulated into the freezer compartment where its heat is removed by the refrigeration process leaving behind cooled air.) In any case, if that air flow is hampered in any way, cooling problems will result.
refrigeration_cycle.gif fridge-air-flow.210x200.giffridge-compressor.gif The second thing you need to know is that the compressor (large black dome at the rear of the refrigerator) provides all the cooling ability for the whole appliance. It has to be running in order for any cooling to take place. As long as the compressor is running, the possibilities listed below will need to be checked one at a time. If the compressor is not running or continually trying to start but failing within seconds, clicking and then shutting down, someone will need to look into why. That alone is likely the cause of your cooling problems.

The blue wire you are referring to, does not plug into anything. It should have a shrink wrapped rubber on the end of it. As for your fridge not cooling I will need for info.
If your fridge is level and on electric the rear coils of the cooling should be warm. If they are warm and the fridge is still not cooling then you will more then likely need a new cooling unit. Hello,

Your condenser is likely dirty clean it. the compressor could be tripped out on over load (to hot) unplug the fridge a couple hours should do it . plug it back in make sure the thermostat is on and set correctly if that does not work you will need service.

Will not cool

First, make sure the thermostat is turned down low enough to call. Listen and see if the compressor is running. In rare circumstances the equipment can develop a refrigerant leak any where along the way from the factory to your home. A warranty call may be in order.
