Question about Photography

Open Question

I have an Olympia DL 2000 35mm camera. It's an older model, not a digital camera. It was my brother's and he passed away. I can't find the instruction book anywhere. The camera has film in it, and I don't know how to work this camera. Can you help me?

Make sure you have appropriate drivers for your camera.
If you use Windows vista or xp service pack 2 then you don't need the drivers coz they are preinstalled on these operating system.

If you use windows 98 or later then you need to install the drivers manually from the cd provided with the camera.

If your camera uses a memory card then it's very easy to transfer the file. You just need a memory card reader.

To install the drivers manually go to control panel\printer and other hardware and then search for add hardware and follow the instructions,

If this does not solve your solution then email me or have a live chat with me about it.My email address is or

If you think i really helped you then please rate me.

SOURCE: Cannot reset camera

I was having the exact same problem. The screen would turn red and i would get an error message. I realized the lens lid stayed open even when the camera shut itself off. I hit the corner of the camera a few times (the side with the lens) until the lens lid shut. Then I tried to turn on the camera and it worked!

What type film does a DL2000A camera take?

It takes standard 35mm film, the kind available at many drugstores and supermarkets, not to mention camera stores.

Software and drivers

In most cases with older model equipment, the manufacturer website will have drivers available in the support section. However, WHQL drivers for windows sometimes get included and use a default generic when older drivers will conflict. Without knowing which model camera or method of extraction (I.e. SD card, direct USB, etc.,) there is very little substance I can give to help.

I just received an Olympia DL-9000 and I don't have the manual for it so I don't know all the features and abilities. Where can I find an instruction manual?

Friend, you may have been shafted.
It seems these cameras are dirt cheap, mass produced junk that are sold by unscrupulous dealers with false brand label stickers on them e.g Canon, Nikon, Kodak or "sound-alike" names like OLYMPIA (cf Olympus), Nikkie (cf Nikon) etc. The feature common to all is the "model" number DL-9000. They are worth about $20.
Please have a look at this web site - it gives much more information.

Where I find the type of olympia 35mm camera on the camera itself that I own. I need to download a user manual for it.

Typing in the model number usually works. If you have the box, you could check that, I assume you don't so I'd recommend the serial number on the bottom. You could look through the manufacturers website to see if you can visually recognize your model of camera. Hope that helps.

I have a brand new Olympia EL 1124 New in the box.How much can I list it for sale? What is the price of it? it was a gift no receipt.

The EL 1124 is considered a "toy camera" and despite a "List Price" of $300, these cameras routinely sell new for between $10 and $20 (source: eBay, I bought 20 of them for about $7 each and gave them away as door prizes at two affairs. The so-called list price made them look like great giveaways.

Focusing distance in macro mode

On a D-580 Zoom camera, the Macro Mode operating range is 8 inches to 20 inches. This means the camera must be between 8 inches and 20 inches away from the subject for a picture to be in focus.
