This would be a normal case, the switch is powered only during the fill stage, it is an interrupter.

Water keeps running after it fills up, won't shut off

On the outside of washing machine tubs there is a rubber hose that goes from the tub to the level sensing unit in the control hood. I have seen these fall off. If it hasnt make sure that it is clear of debris and water. If all is ok here is a link that tells you how to check your level switch,
Good Luck

Dishwater will not water. Used to work okay Electric valve clogged? Are they cleanable?

Not cleanable.Must replace. But check them first. They don/'t fail very often. Also check the obvious.Someone might have shut water off. Check for voltage at the fill solonoid .If voltage available then replace. If no voltage , Check ,door switch and, waterlevel switch. If ok, look at timer or controller.

My washer continues to dump water and over flows. Also wash cycle not working at all. Rinse and spin ok

You have a problem with your water level switch
When your switch is not working, the washing cycle will not trigger to operate.
Check your water level switch for your model, look for model number under the hood of washing machine, at the sides of washing machine, or in the back..

After being switched on it doesn't get started.

You will need to check the voltage that is available in the inlet valve, the waterlevel sensors , the motor and the drain pump/valve to establish if the program controller is working.
If not the controller is faulty.

Washer is leaking from the bottom?

You hit the jackpot with this question. Could be almost anything and everything. Remember, water is everywhere in a washer. Could be the pump, or discharge hose, or interconnect hose , or outlet from the tub, or overflow(on some models), or waterlevel sensor tube, or fill valve, or washer hot/cold inlet connections, or aerator fill nozzle, or water level switch allowing water too hi, or, or, or, or....., well you get the idea. Good luck, Macgivor

Waterintake stops after approx. 35 sec.waterlevel is to low, detergent compartement will not open because of low waterlevel and also water will not heat, because heating element is not covered with water....

The machine fills by time only as you have already determined. The intake screen on the water valve is probably plugged up and cleaning it should solve your problem. You will have to turn off the supply to the dishwasher and disconnect the water feed line. Eric
