Tomtom 920 Is there any way to make the distance the unit tells you of the next action consistent?  Sometimes it's " right turn ahead" info shows 5.x miles other times its 400 yards.  Off ramps is the worst trying to figure without staring at it which ramp it's referring you to.  Thanks for your advise. BTW my previous Garmin was WAY better in this area (at least so far) Thanks again Al

Why doesn't it say the NAME OF THE STREET that you are to turn on? It will tell you how far ahead the turn is and then tell you to turn R or L but it doesn't give the name. Also, there have been several...

I have a tomtom 920, it will say the street name to turn on if set to do so & only then if using computer voices, not human voices. Tuning the wrong direction could be its wrong or its trying to take the fast route via a highway, longer route but get there faster

Does a 920-T have an automatic shutdown mode which

TomToms do not turn off the charging, regardless of whether they are ON or OFF. It should ALWAYS be charging. When you place the GPS on the dock, it should have a small green LED lighting up on the lower right. That's the indication that it is charging.
Please, verify and report back in case you need further help

My TomTom 920 turns on in my car but when connected to the car charger the charging light does not come on and the device displays a bottle symbol and turns off

It sounds like the Car adapter is bad, try charging through the USB port on your computer to see if the unit charges. If it does you will need a new car charger - try ebay.

Good Luck

I have a tomtom go 920 my sreen turns sometimes black after it flickers but it stil tells me where to go ! Is there something loose insite ?

The TomTom has a power-saving scheme. If enabled, the screen may be dimmed or turned off if you are travelling straight ahead and no left or right turns are imminent. It will come back when instructions are given.
Check the preferences and look for battery power-saving.

Tomtom 920 bluetooth disabled

repair both ...start fresh from start.....do a hard restart on the TomTom...this is located on the last menu of your tomtom...Factory reset...it will erase recent destinations and favorites....but it usually clears the tomtom....Now try to repair both the phone and the tomtom

Unable to change symbol on tomtom 920 sat navigation.

using TT home check that you still have the symbol you want installed on the TT. I had a similar problem where it would seem to forget what I had choosen on occasion and sometimes I had to use TT home to check and re-install. problem itself seemed to just go away. (Guess it got sick of me telling it LOL)

Device not recognized by computer

Lots of folks having this problem with many different TomTom Models, mine was with a GO630.

Do a "reset" on the unit, use a paperclip or somesuch and hold the reset button on your TomTom in for about 5 seconds, and the unit will rrset and will be recognized by your computer.
