SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: lost my username and password

Reset the Router, and you will have to set everything up again. To avoid losing this in the Future, Put a Piece of masking tape under the router and Write your Information there. Not a Security threat as anyone that wants on your Network would need to be in your Home to get this information

SOURCE: Router not blocking specified site.

There are a couple ways you can do this.

  1. Check the obvious and make sure that if you are blocking by DNS name that you have included wild cards to handle any virtual hosts running on that domain and that you are blocking all ports that could potentially generate the content, not just port 80.
  2. Make sure that you do not have spy ware locally on the LAN PC's that is connecting you to the site or broadcasting content. If you are initiating contact with the server from internal PC's then your inbound policies won't matter.
  3. If all else fails and you can trace the site to an IP, you can always block the IP on your router directly for all ports, set the etc/hosts file on each machine in your organization to redirect that IP to localhost, or set your DNS server to redirect that name/ip to a fake IP internally.

SOURCE: how to block website

I don't know what brand this is but typically you have to log into the router to set up website blocking. If you have access to the web go to the manufacturers web site and look up the default log-in. Most routers use a default log-in may be "admin" but i do not know the password.
Once you do have the login information you will need to log into the router and add blocked site info.

Your school must have blocked websited like Facebook. You will need a free web proxy like MaverickEyes.com to access any blocked website like Facebook, YouTube etc from school.

I am at work and want to play gams on my computer but cant access facebook because its blocked by a filtering system.

Michael,

Many (most) system administrators for networks block social network sites from the system. Reasons are mainly twofold: (1) Productivity fall and (2) The amount of viruses that are rampant on those sites.

You will find that porn sites and sports betting sites, and possibly gaming sites are also blocked.

Sorry, you will just have to wait until you get home.

Thanks for using Fixya just the same.

Have a good day.

How can I unblock social networking websites from my computer? Thank you!

You have to get a firewall program and block the websites. Try Zone Alarm it is easiest one I can think of to setup.

Blocking Websites Using Internet Explorer
  • Internet Explorer makes it simple to block individual websites. Click the "Tools" button on the toolbar at the top. Then select "Internet Options." Look for the tab that says "Content." Click that tab and select "Content Advisor" and "Settings." You will see a tab that says "Approved Sites." There will be a white box that says "Allow this website." Since you do not want to allow Twitter or Facebook, simply enter "http://www.twitter.com" in the white box and click the "Never" button. Also type in "http://twitter.com" without the "www" and click "Never." Repeat the same steps for "http://www.facebook.com." You'll save your settings by clicking "Apply" and "OK." At this point, you may be asked to create an administrator password. Make sure you choose something that you will easily remember. Restart Internet Explorer and attempt to visit Twitter or Facebook. The site should now be blocked.
    Blocking Websites Using Firefox
  • Firefox is different from Internet Explorer in that it does not have a built-in option for blocking websites. You can still successfully block Twitter and Facebook using a Firefox add-in called BlockSite. BlockSite allows you to specify any website you wish to block and add it to a "blacklist" by simply adding it into the input box. Visit the Firefox add-ons site and download BlockSite. Restart Firefox and click "Tools > Add-ons." Click on BlockSite. Since you do not want to allow Twitter or Facebook, simply enter "http://www.twitter.com" in the input box and click the "Add" button. Also type in "http://twitter.com" without the "www." Repeat the same steps for "http://www.facebook.com." You'll save your settings by clicking "OK." Restart Firefox and attempt to visit Twitter or Facebook. The site should now be blocked. It's important to note that as a third-party add-on, BlockSite is not maintained by Mozilla, developers of Firefox.

Why i diD n0T uSe thE fAcebook siTe????

Do you have any ad-Blockers? what is your firewall? any popup blockers?
you may need to allow the website through your firewall if its not windows firewall
if you have windows Firewall then an ad blocker/popup blocker is blocking it, allow www.facebook.com through that or turn off your ad blocker/popup blocker
Q: why would an ad blocker/popup blocker block Facebook?
A: Facebook contains elements that are often identified as ads or popups, Most of the content are popups/ads, and as such since the entirety of Facebook runs off popups/ads, that is blocked as a result of being identified as unsafe, do not be surprised, some websites are blocked like this that are actually safe and are otherwise known as False Positives in terms of spyware, viruses, Potentially unsafe websites, etc
Q: Is there a solution? A: Yes, uninstall your popup/ad blocker IF you havent bought actually bought it and download and install Peerblock: http://www.peerblock.com/
for your reference i have mine set to block: Anti-p2p Spyware Advertising
and if you use Google Chrome or something that uses Google Chrome Extensions, install this, it doesnt block Facebook, but blocks all ads and saves your download bandwidth, i cant recommend this extension highly enough :) : https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom?hl=en

I cant get on facebook because its blocked. how do i unblock it?

You don't need to unblock it; you could use a proxy server.

Just Google "proxy browser". These are sites that mask the actual destination site; the only way to prevent them from working would be for all of those proxy browsing sites to be blocked by the blocker as well. This is close to impossible. Once you choose one, it will allow you to use otherwise blocked websites.

But, in my opinion, you should respect your father's limits while living under his roof. If he doesn't want you using those sites, you probably should not do so on his computer.
