    Things You’ll Need:
    Bleach
    Vinegar
    Orange Tang Drink Mix
    Baking soda

    1. Check the temperature preset before cleaning your dishwater. This is the temperature of the water used for washing. Some dishwashers require water to be 120 degrees or higher, while others require 140 degrees or higher. Check your dishwasher’s make & model mentioned in the user’s manual. Learn if your dishwasher has a pre-heating mechanism for water when it is too cold. Use a thermometer to measure the temperature just before the washing cycle begins.

    2. Identify and locate the type of cleaning required in your dishwasher. Scale, rust, mold, discoloration and food stains are some of the most common concerns that require regular cleaning. Follow the steps below to clean each of these

    3. Add one tbsp of bleach after emptying the contents of dishwasher. Run a full cycle. This will clean any mold built up in the dishwasher and leave the dishwasher sparkling and glowing.

    4. Try cleaning discoloration and scale off your dishwasher by adding one half container of Orange Tang Drink Mix. The citric acid present in the mixture helps to loosen up the hard water deposits as it removes and cleans the scale from your dishwasher. Run a regular cycle.

    5. Place a coffee cup filled with vinegar in the dishwashing rack and run a full cycle of dishwashing. This will clean your entire dishwasher. This is one of the easiest techniques and works well as preventive care. If vinegar is unavailable you can also use baking soda.

Samsung dishwasher sprays gunk all over my glasses. When the cycle is over they are coated with dried bits of gunk. Dishes are dirtier than when they went in.

I have the same problem with gunk and spots on dishes. I took apart the parts at bottom covering the heating element. There is all sorts of gunk on everything. I cleaned it all, even under gaskets and filter screen. I am neither sure what caused it nor how to prevent it. My thinking maybe the water source. Water in my town has gotten worse in quality and has bad smell. I use a major water filter system for drinking water. My thought is that the heating element is drying the water up and leaving sediment from water.

Do you hear the motor run or is there deadly silence when you select drain.
Does the wash cycle start - do you hear water getting in and washer arms move?
Are there any lights flashing?

It is not cleaning dishes, it leaves food residue on dishes and deposits small bits to other dishes especially on glasses.

If there is not enough water, the dishes would not get cleaned. This could be caused by a partially closed water shut-off valve (located under the sink), or a faulty dishwasher water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side).

Also, There is usually two, sometimes three spray arms in a dishwasher. Make sure there is no debris blocking the holes inside each spray arm.

**Water temperature Note***

To get the best results, the water has to be at 120 degrees Fahrenheit when entering the dishwasher.

I don't have a solution, but the exact same problem is happening with my dishwasher. Nothing is getting cleaned properly.

Did you manage to get the problem fixed?

Dishes not getting clean

the problem is hard water leaving the residue. go to www.dishwasherfilter.com and get the dishwasher filtration system. it will reduce the hard minerals that leave the residue and your dishes will be clean as can be. it is very affordable and fits right under your sink.

White film 0n dishes and especially glasses

It is a drain problem, check the drain hose and drain pump. There should be some problem with the drain being blocked that is eventually pushing the dirt water back and front.Thereby leaving detergent and dirt back in the dishwasher.
Provide me the model number and i can help you out with some internal diagrams in case you don't find the drain pump.
Good luck and please do post for further doubts arising on this solution.

Hotpoint aquarius dwf30 dishwasher

you can plumb into hot but there are some snags
first hot water pressure is often a lot lower than cold so the machine may take a long time to fill
second if the water is too hot it will destroy the resin of the water softener and you will see brown marks on the crockery.
third it a bit uneconomical as you will use a lot of hot water
