I do not know how to use the self clean feature on my Kenmore Gas stove

Hi

Press the self-clean button to start the cycle. The panel becomes blank (---), then press the up arrow (^). The panel will appear 3:00 (indication for the duration of self-cleaning). The oven will lock on its own and start the self-cleaning. After self cleaning is done wait for 15-20 minutes and open the door. Please post back for any further assistance. Hope this helps...

Kenmore Gas Range

Hey Alan- 'Self clean' sells. Techs call this function 'self- destruct'. Depending on age and number of previous 'clean' cycles, the control may have developed errors, or lockout switches may not function. If inside is thoroughly scraped, and bottom pan checked, removed, and cleaned if necessary, oven should work fine. Preventitive drip pans and a lot of aluminum foil keep the 'Self Clean' Gremlins away. Hope this helps- Thanks- ED

Self-cleaning oven doesn't work on Kenmore electric oven

I suspect the timer is involved in this process. It can be set to clean automatically. You need to set the complete time at least 2 hours after start.

Kenmore Elite Range/Oven problem.

We had this problem as well, our's locked and we were not able to unlock it.

We found that holding down the stop/clear button on he bottom right of the key pad for 3 consecutive seconds releases the lock.

The locked oven wording will blink for about a minute and then the oven is released completely.

So frustrating...I accidently hit the option while cooking. Talk about panic. I needed to use the oven.

Check that door switch is completely closed. Check latch, solenoid, and actuation switch for electrical or mechanical malfunction. One of these is the reason for the E1, F5 code.
