Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

1 Answer

It's locked and won't open

My washer was flashing 16min left and it had been like that for hours. I checked the lock button and it wasn't that. The washer is off and the door hasn't unlocked itself. What do i do?

Unplug the washer and remove the panel under the door. There are three torx type screws located under the bottom edge of the lower panel. HINT: Propping up the front feet of the washer can make accessing the screws much easier - I use blocks of wood. With the screws removed, the panel should drop down, then come off. Sometimes the panel may stick. A slight tap on the sides can dislodge it.

Now, reach behind the front panel from the bottom on the side where the door latch is located. Feel for a round tab at the bottom of the door latch and pull straight down. This the manual release for the door. Hopefully, all you had was a glitch that caused the door latch to jam. Try restarting the washer to see if the problem persists.

I hope you find this information helpful. Post back if you have need further questions advice.

Washer Control Locked blinking and won't washer won't work

Water still in the bottom of the drum. Empty, clean filter and check pump is turning. Once pressure switch is satisfied no water is left it'll allow the door to open, assuming the door interlock is still ok.

Washer will not start. Start button flashes but lid is not locked

If the lid lock light is flashing, that is an error. If the lid doesnt lock it won't do anything. There is a diagnostic test that you could do to prove it if you are good with electronics and ohm meters. Most tecks would probably tell you to replace the lid lock assembly. That is probably the cheapest part. The only problem is that without the diagnostis test it could be somthing else. But first check to see that the wire that comes from the lock is securely plugged into the control board.

F-28 flashing. Door will not open

While the machine is on press "end of cycle" for 3 seconds, then wait for 2 minutes to try the door. Try this again if it does not open, this is the child lock program - to lock and unlock; it is the same procedure.

Check your washer plug to see if the connections are tightly screwed. You can also plug off for half an hour to reset.

I would check to make sure the connectors to that door lock are all connected. If they are it's probably the lock/switch mechanism itself. Wow I just checked and they are about $120. The p/n is wh10x10006 You can google around for the best price. Good luck!
