Question about Logitech SoundMan Pro Computer Speakers

Open Question

I have an Old pair of ligitech soundman speakers mod mn sl-c is what it says on the bottom of the powerd main speaker they are cream colored if that helps and they look like pro only with one dial for vol I have strange distortion only from the slave speaker not the main powered speaker. is it possable this would be caused by a dried out cap on the main ampboard in the powered speaker or could there be some other reason as the main powered speaker still sounds great? I realy love the speakers they sound great for there size and they dont make em any longer. so I would love to know if theres an easy fix? Thanks for any help on this as my master electronics tech dear freind passed away recently so I cant get help from him very sad, the world lost one increadable tech who was able to fix dam near anything even thogh he was known as TV Bob har in NJ, anyway I hope theres still some of you out there who can help. SOURCE: logitech speakers will only play on 2 speakers not 5

Liamog, i bought the exact same speakers and sound card, and i had the exact same problem as you. I tried for days to fix it and it turns out that its only a setting you have to enable in your sound card settigns. If you go into your EAX console for your creative sound card you will find a thing that sams CMSS 3D, and all you have to do is select the button that says Enable CMSS 3d surround. I hope this will fix your problem. Alex.

SOURCE: Logitech speaker problem

Verify that the audio lead is connected to the correct line out on the computer. Check the sliders in the windows volume control are correct and mute is unticked. Try plugging some headphones into the computer to hear if the PC is actually producing an output.

SOURCE: No sound

Make sure you've got your V20's set as the default sound playback device.
Control Panel -->
Sounds and Audio Devices -->
Tab 'Audio'; select 'Logitech USB Speaker' in the dropdown list in the first item on the tab.

just a thought...

SOURCE: Logitech x540 speakers- rear speakers distorted on matrix mode

One easy fix to the problem of distortion in rear speakers is (if you do not have a higher-end sound card) to buy a three way quarter inch splitter. Simply plug the three quarter inch cables coming from the speaker system into the three female ends on the splitter and then plug the single quarter inch jack into your computer - this sends the same audio to all of the speakers.

I have a pair of Goodmans Magnum SL speakers. Crossover capacitors.

The capacitors in my Magnums are 3.3uF and 8uF and don't need replacing as they are the foil type (which essentially last forever) rather than non-polar electrolytics (which fail after about 10 years).

New hp 6654y no speakers. Can I use my old speakers?

Yes, as long as the old speakers have one line in. Should be green in color. The output from the pc should be green in color as well.

Of course there is more than one line to plug in with nicer speaker systems but I am assuming you are talking about a standard pair of speakers with one line in.

I just both the Europower pmp6000 powerd mixer and Eurolive b215xl speakers and i need help conecting the speaker to the mixer. I will be using it with some mics at a function in an hotel. How do I connect...

use 1/4 inch speaker cables. hook one speaker up to "main 1 R" out and the other to "main 1 L" out. if you have additional main speakers, hook them up the the "main 2" outputs.

look for the "bridge amp mode" switch and move it to the "main L- main R" position.
