SOURCE: ADSL Router wont get ip address from operator

sir if your ISP account is PPPoE or using username and password to connect, try to open your router using web interface configuration, locate your account and try to disconnect then connect.  hard reset afterwards(on/off the device)
if your using a dynamic account, try to RESET your modem and do the hard reset.  check your IP using command prompt, to do this type ipconfig /release, when it releases to zeros, type ipconfig /renew to have your IP's back...check internet connection then

SOURCE: TRENDnet TEW-432BRP router cannot obtain IP through DHCP

it seems that ur PC & cable modem configuration is ok, now the problem is with ur router WAN interface configuration. the problem would be one out of 2 - first to check whether ur router wan interface is configured properly to obtain IP address from DHCP (if possible, u can give the static ip address with same series as cable modem) second to check with ur ISP.

SOURCE: Belkin F5D8236-4 Wireless Router will not connect

1) With direct connect with modem, check the IP address and default gateway.
(I came across such a modem, it gave default gateway as 192.168.1.254)
I also had the doubt of configuring as a dynamic connection
But it won't work!
Contact your ISP to completely bridge the modem and configure the dsl modem as PPPoE connection with correct username and password.
Finally connect the modem to router and do a complete network power cycle, i.e.: Unplug power from router 1st, then power from modem, unplug the telephone line and now do the exact reverse process... Plug back the tel. cable, then power to modem... now WAIT for lights on modem to come back, then plug in the power to router. This will surely work.

I have no internet connection when i connect my adsl router with enhwi g2 router in WAN, then from lan1 connect my pc. Please solve my problem. Tnx

First test to see that you can connect to the Internet by connecting directly to the modem.

If yes, then check that the cables are connected correctly and that the LEDs are on. (Just a check :). Telephone line to LINE IN on modem then Ethernet/Cat 5 from LAN port on modem to WAN port on Encore router, then Ethernet/Cat 5 cable from LAN port on router to PC.)

Use browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, Mozilla) to connect to web interface of router (make sure your TCP/IP settings on PC are set to obtain IP address using DHCP).

Open browser and type in the IP Address of the router (192.168.1.1 is the default) where you usually type in the name of the website you want to go.

Go to the LAN Interface Setup page (you are now inside your router).

Change the IP Address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.89.1 (leave the subnet mask as it is).

Change the DHCP Client Range from 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.200 (the default) to 192.168.89.100 - 192.168.89.200.

Click on Apply Changes button. You may lose connectivity to the router, but you can reconnect by typing in the new IP Address 192.168.89.1. You may need to renew the IP address of the PC, but that can be easily done by rebooting the system if it doesn't happen automatically.

Let me know how you go, or leave a message if you still can't connect. I would ask that you tell me the model of the ADSL modem however.

Cheers

No Internet via zoom X6 wireless router to desk top, lap top ok.

Access your zoom router by using the laptop which still has access to the router.

Your going to have to open your Wireless Network Connection Status window located under your network settings.

If you see this window your going to left click the (details) button

Now you should see a IP DNS server address
for example: 192.168.1.xxx

Type that address onto the address bar of your web browser.

it should take you to your router setup page.

There you will need to check if the lan port is enabled

Our modem will not connect to the router, the lan activity light will not shine... unless we connect through to modem. Our modem is Comtrend ADSL PPPOE.

You have to chage the router ip address other than the modem ip. The modem is 192.168.1.1 change your router to 192.168.9.1

ADSL ISP provides same address for IP and Gateway

Can you manually change the WAN IP on the router?  If so, give it an IP like 123.12.167.5 and set the gateway address to 123.12.167.1.  If it asks for a subnet mask, give it 255.255.255.0.
If she has a Linksys router, you may need to change the operating "MODE" on it.  A lot of Linksys routers have 2 modes of operation---Router mode and Gateway mode.  For her configuration, make sure the Linksys is in Gateway mode.  This will fix the NAT problem.

Cheers!

If the Internet light is off it means you are not either authenticated at your provider or your configurations are wrong on the modem. If you go to your command prompt and type ipconfig and check your IP address and your default gateway. The IP address on your default gateway would be your router put that IP address on your browser and should be able to see your modem setting and any error messages that could help resolve your issue

make sure your ethernet port is set to 'obtain address' and 'DNS' automatically (IE use DCHP and not static IP address) The software should be able to 'find' the zoom modem then.

Router instalation

this should be set up using a lan cable, installation cd and not wirelessly initially while being set up. you may need to check that the lan card adapter on your pc is set to obtain an ip address automatically in its tcp/ip properties. you should also be able to access the router through your web browser by typing 10.0.0.2 for quick start instructions click below http://www.zoom.com/documentation/adsl/5590_QuickStart_Eng.pdf
