I have a Samsung HCM4215W 42 inches rear projection TV. It has no sound most of the time. When powering up there is a loud static sound. The red color appears to be dark pink. The screen is not as clear as it used to be. Any ideas what could be the problem?

Family member pressed menu button, now we have no sound and after trying many times just can't working again.??

Pressing the menu button does not disable the sound on a television. It is just a coincidence that the sound is gone now after that had been done.

First check each one of your devices. Are you getting sound when you play a DVD or a VHS cassette? Do you get sound when viewing cable or satellite? If you get sound from any of the devices that are connected to different places on your television then you have ruled out the television itself as being the problem.

If you have isolated the problem to the cable box or satellite receiver then you will need to reboot it. You can usually just turn it off and unplug it for 30 seconds. Then you plug it back in and let it boot up and you should have sound.

One other reason a cable box or satellite receiver may not have sound it that the audio output setting in its menu is wrong so take a look at that as well if that applies.

Also make sure that the cables are good between the device not getting any sound and the television by changing them or trying them with another device.

I have sound but no picture>

The t-con board of your television is bad, that is why your television is having sound but no picture.
The t-con board is by the upper middle of the main panel of the television, Have it replaced and your television will be in good condition once again.

Hope this was helpful to you.
Take care and good luck.

No picture but have sound

If your television comes on and has no picture but sound, there is only one major cause of such problem and it is the t-con board of the television, a defective t-con board will cause your television to have sound but not picture.

Have a repairman replace the t-con board and the television will be in good condition once again.

Take care and good luck

My TV turns on, but I have no sound

If your television works and you are not having any sound, first check if your volume is not on the lowest, or if the television is not on mute, if after checking and you see that its not on mute or on the lowest volume, then it simply means the sound IC of the television is bad and need to be replaced.

To replace the sound IC, you will have to get a screw driver to unscrew the screws at the back of the television, then a cup to put the screws in, then a glove to protect your hand from any kind of shock, then you unscrew the back cover of the television, and trace the wires that are at the back of the speakers to the main board they are connected to, that is the sound IC of the television and that is the board that needs to be replaced.

An alternative or temporary solution that could last you as long as you want is for you to connect the television to an amplifier, using the 3.5mm to RCA cables. connect the 3.5mm to RCA cable (it has a headphone plug on one end and 2prongs RED and WHITE on the other end) to the television, use the selector on the amplifier to select the tune you put the prongs, then you will have the sound coming off from the speakers connected to the amplifier.

Take care and good luck
I hope this is helpful

I can not get my television to work my surround sound and my wii without disconnecting one or the other. My television is six years old and I don't have my manual anymore. What can I do?

connect your wii sound cable to the surround sound mixer under aux (if you have the input). That way when you play the game the sound will go directly in the sound system and the image on tv

sounds like you have a bad sound card; if it is still under warranty call them up otherwise you will end up looking for and replacing the sound card inside the main board. If you are lucky the sound card will not be embedded on the main board.

No sound

I suppose you have a surround sound system that is now not functioning? They must have disconnected your audio out cables from your television to your surround sound system. Make sure your main audio out channel on your television is connected to AV1 in on your surround sound system. It is probably an RCA cable (red and white). Then when you play your TV, make sure the audio is set on AV1 for your surround sound system by pressing the function button until AV1 is on the display. Let me know if this helps.
