What were you trying to connect to the service port?

That sounds more like a co-incidence. May be it coincided with a power surge or something? What is the status of the LED at the front?

Ok. So the first thing you would want to check is the 10A(6A in some models) or just replace the fuse. See if the LED comes on. Also check for any visual signs of damage. Charred components, capacitors that have cracked and/or bulged at the top. Remember you should always unplug it before you start working on it. Do not touch any capacitors with bare hands for they hold residual voltages.

Sure thing. At most you will need to have power supply board replaced. Good luck with the repair . Here's hoping he won't rip you off!

Samsung r540 wont boot

lets try something...take the computer and unplug it ..then remove the battery...with the battery set aside plug the wall plug back in and plug that into the wall outlet....then hold down the power button for about 2-4 seconds and let me know if it turns on or if there is any changes
then try a different power cable and if that doesn't work then the problem is with your motherboard....you can attempt to reflow the board by taking it all apart...make sure you remove everything that can be heat damaged...cpu ect.....then take aluminum foil and make 3inch soft balls out of it to suspend the motherboard so that it doesn't touch the cookie sheet pan....then bake at 400 for 10 mins...and after that if it still doesn't work then you need to replace the motherboard

The yellow light comes on inside but the computer won't come on neither does it beep?

First remove any power cables and batteries(if laptop) from your system and hold down the power button for 15 seconds.

Plug the power cable back in & attempt to boot.
If this does not solve your problem then you will need to remove all non-essentials from your system.

If laptop, this simply consist of battery, ram, optical drive & any other removable bays or devices. Unplug all cables except the power cable & attempt to boot.

If desktop, you will need to remove any cables plugged into your computer except keyboard, mouse, power, video, sound, & network cable. Open the case & remove any PCI cards, except video cards, unless you have on-board video, unplug the data & power cables going to the optical & hard drives. Now attempt to boot. If you have no luck you can remove your RAM sticks & try again. If you get an error beep warning you about no ram then you might have a bad ram stick. If none of the above works then you may have a bad power supply or motherboard. Power supplies are pretty easy to test with tester or use a spare.

OfficeJet 7410 wont boot up.

I would try resetting the power supply.
You can do this by unplugging the power adapter cable from the wall outlet.
Unplug the other end from the printer.
Unplug the power cable portion from the rectangular power adapter.
You should be left with a power cord, a power adapter, and a printer; All three are not plugged into anything. Leave it this way for 30 secs, then retry the turn-on process after plugging the cords back into where they belong. Also, try plugging straight into a wall outlet, and not into a surge protector.

If this is not working still, double check the outlet in question by testing it with an appliance like a hair dryer or lamp.

Good luck!

It not let me get internet service i unplug it to move from one side of the room to the other and now its not working

You may need to reboot your cable modem before plugging in the router's power cord.

Are you certain that you re-plugged the Ethernet cable from the cable modem into the correct port on your Netgear router?

If plugging your computer directly into the cable modem allows you to go online, then just re-boot the router once all of the ethernet cables are plugged in to the correct places and then power it back on, and you should be okay.

Can't get router to work after disconnection.

Try setting it up as follows, if its not working come back on and let us know.

Plug in the modem power.
Plug in the router power.
Plug in one ethernet cable from the modem to the internet port or WAN port of the router.
If not wireless, plug a second ethernet cable into the "1" port of the router and the other end of that cable to the computers LAN or ethernet port.

Attempt to get on a website.
If this is unsuccessful, restart the modem by unplugging the power cord from the modem, wait 15 seconds, then plug it back in.
Unplug the router, wait for 15 seconds then plug it back in.

Still doesn't work?
On your computer, hit Start>Run>type cmd in the text box and hit enter.
A window will open up with a cursor.
Type ipconfig /release
Hit enter.
Type ipconfig /renew
Hit enter.

Try once again to access a website. If this is unsuccessful, return this site and let us know what steps you have tried.

Hope this helps.

Keep the battery unplugged but make sure you have the power cord still plugged in, and when you see the toshiba screen press F8 i believe or F1. In there you need to change to the boot order so that the CDrom boots first if you want to try and restore from CD

Try resetting the router . Press the reset button for 10 seconds and after 10 seconds unplug the power cable but continue pressing the reset button for another 30 seconds after 30 seconds plug in back the power cable and continue pressing the reset button for 10 seconds and release it after 10 seconds.

try to open an Internet browser and type in 192.168.0.1 on the address bar. It should give you the DLink page. Once you have that configure your connection.

My seagate external hard drive will no longer power on.

1) If you constantly plug & unplug the power plug going to the h/d for any and all reasons like testing different things inside the desktop, you could have (more often then not you pulled the plug from the wires!! , then repluged in again ) damaged the power wires going to the h/d. replace one of the other power plugs (if you have extra connectors) or substitute another for the one that the h/d is connected to.
2) connect a bootable floppy and boot up to see if the computer is working.Boot up with a floppy & a simple game to load up and see if the game will play FROM the floppy.
get back to me if that works.
