it is a 2003 whirlpool dryer the model number couldn't be located. the problem that I am haveing when i'm done turning the timer knob I push the start button and it makes a loud buzz almost like the drum is stuck could this be a broken dryer belt if so does the process of changeing the belt take a very long time and is it hard to do if you have never done it before.

The model number should be on a nameplate located around the door opening somewhere. I need this in order to look for any wiring diagrams, so I can determine what is causing the noise you're talking about.

If the dryer turns on, but the drum does not spin and all you hear is a loud noise, it sounds like your drum belt has broken and is wrapped around the drive motor. Could you please post back and confirm these symptoms for me? Plus, your brand and model number would also be a great help in identifying correct belt (if that's the problem) and how to troubleshoot.

Whirlpool dryer was making loud squeaking noise. Now it is not turning at all. Makes a noise when you turn it on, but stops completely.

Check the drum belt. Check the drum rollers on the back & glides on the front that the drum rides on also check the idler pully. Check the felt the drum rides on in case it came loose and won't let the drum turn. Did it hum when you started it if so could be the motor. Good luck

Drum will not turn and there is no heat.

This dryer has a circuit board that controls virtually everything. If it makes a buzzing noise when you press the power button to turn on the control panel, it's probably not going to be an easy fix. When you hire a professional, you avoid buying expensive parts that you might not need, such as a control board. If it makes a loud buzzing noise when you press the start button, it's possible that it could be a motor or belt problem. But again, I'd recommend a service call for this one.

Whirlpool Estate Dryer not working

Sounds like the motor has seized. Try manually turning the drum with your hands. Is it hard to turn? If it is then the motor has seized up. If not, the windings in the motor may have shorted. Hopefully this answers your questions

Whirlpool GEW9200 dryer makes loud whining noise...

It might be metal on metal. It is possible that something worked it's way from inside the drum it between the drum and the rest of the dryer. There's just a couple of srcews that holds the back and top on to the dryer. Take them out after un-plugging the dryer, and consider plugging it back in and running it to see if you can here where the squeek is coming from.

Dryer is making loud thumping noise.

Take off the back panel of the dryer and look at the motor and belt turning the drum. There may be something caught on the drum and is pinned in place causing the noise. The motor could be loose on the platform and needs to be tightened. It is probably something physical and seen causing the noise.
