Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

We just moved and I'm setting all our computers up. One desktop didn't make the move, so bought a new one. Has a default monitor installed - can't get my envision monitor to be set as the monitor. The colors on the monitor were fine, but now i get while, blue, black and mustard yellow. Any ideas on fixing it? I tried all the settings.

It's not a matter of settings, if you use the defaults it will be ok. Just take care not to bench any pin at the 15 pin VGA connector from the power to the monitor. Take the connector out to check that everything is ok. Reconect it back and tight both screws for not to be moved. As you describe your case I assume that the pin for the green color in not in clear contact, so all the colors that comes from green are misquted.

Install new GeForce 210 Verto install all drivers not recognize by computer

Since this computer came with an integrated Graphics you will need to disable it. Plug your monitor into the integrated card and you should have a display. Now reboot the computer, watch for the key sequence at the HP splash screen for the bois settings (probably F10). In the bois there will be a section for you display output. Change it from integrated to PCI. Save the changes made and the computer will reboot. Move your monitor plug to the new video card and it should now function.

I have moved my monitor to another computer and the USB ports no longer work??

Did the monitor come with the computer that you are moving away from?

If so, it's because the 'drivers' were already installed for when the computer was made.

Some Operating Systems (Like Vista) will automatically detect the new software (your monitor) and download the necessary drivers.

However, if you have moved the monitor to a computer that is foreign to this particular monitor, you will need to go to Dell.com and locate your monitor and download the drivers for it.

Save the file to your desktop and once downloaded, double click the icon and follow the on screen instructions.

Good luck

When booting up my windows is loading and then my screen goes black and come up with an error: recomended resolution is 1280x1024... how do I fix this?

Most probably your computer has a higher resolution or refresh frequencies set in Desktop Settings than supported by the monitor. It might be also, that you have previously installed a monitor driver for a different monitor model, and the computer is using resolutions and frequencies supported by that previous monitor, with which your new one can't cope.
The solution would be to boot the computer in safe mode (hit F8 key when the computer is starting, you can hit it a couple of times, until you see a menu; choose "Safe Mode" and hit Enter).
Go to Desktop Properties, change to Settings tab, and click "Advanced" button. In the new window choose "Monitor" tab and change the monitor to "Plug and Play monitor". Click OK to accept the settings and close both windows.
Now reboot the computer - it should start with a rather low resolution, but the picture should be visible. Now you have to go to your Desktop Settings again, Advanced tab, and move the resolution slider to position 1280x1024. Accept and enjoy.
If the computer still doesn't boot, go to safe mode again, go to Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, drill down to Monitors, and delete all the monitor devices installed. After a reboot, system should start up and find new hardware, and install Plug and Play monitor. Set the optimum resolution of 1280x1024 as written before.

Click with the SECOND (usually the RIGHT) mouse button anywhere on your desktop "wallpaper".

Click Properties.
Click Settings.
Move the slider to 800-by-600 or 1024-by-800 or 1280-by-1024.
Click OK.

Now, install the CA software.

My computer display was moved?!?

The vs19 is an LCD. That meand Liquid Crystal Display and the monitor is very thin and very light, unlike a CRT which is big, heavy and bulky. You need to find the icon within the menu to reset the monitor to factory default settings. See if that helps. Click this link to see how to adjust it to factory default.

Display moves when in games

This is because your game is changing your video mode and timing. Check in the game's settings, see if there is a "use default video mode" option or if you can specify the 1440X900 mode manually.
