Question about JVC LT-26C31 26 in. LCD Television
Please help me with this.
I bought a brand new for watching films etc. (also it is used as a computer monitor).
The problem occurs with the remote control. Any of the MENU functions doesn`t work ( SOUND;PiCTURE ). When pressing the MENU button for wanting to change the SOUND improvement, the menu really appears on the screen but when pressing the UP ( also as channel up ) or DOWN (also as channel down) button to select the SOUND, the TV changes a channel. Also when the MENU is on it automatically selects the PICTURE category ( which is ment to be! ) but when trying to press ok ( the OK button is the same as MENU button ) it logs the menu off. It`s like hoplesness. I tried it hundreds of times, different combinations like holding the yellow button down then pressing the MENU and the UP button ( or down it doesnt matter ) but still it changes a channel instead of letting me to select and scroll between the menu functions. Maybe i got the wrong remote control with my TV? Everything else seems working fine. Please can anybody help me? I am very thankful for that.
You most definately have bad capacitors in the power supply. try and get it repaired as soon as possible, not an expensive repair that iv'e seen.

1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect PS3 to TV HDMI input
3. select TV HDMI input for PS3
4. turn OFF PS3 if it is ON
5. Press and hold the [I/O]Power button until the PS3 until you get the "HDMI Detected" message.
Also, this TV has a circuit that deactivates the HDMI if the rear cover is removed. It is possible the HDMI may have been turned OFF. This is reset in the service menu of the TV.

Hi , I have the same problem with my LT-42X688,so i called the service of my extended warranty provider . the TV technician just left and told me the motherboard is the problem. he said its the third one this week he has seen with the same symptoms. he ordered the motherboard and i've got to wait 5 to 7 work days before the part will be in . I will keep you posted when the guy will return.

How are you connecting your laptop to the samsung TV? Is it DVI/HDMI or thru more-common S-video cable? I have successfully ported laptop screen to TV with S-Video. After you connect your S-video cable, right-click on blank desktop of laptop and bring up the Display Properties (usually the last entry on pop-up menu). Got to last tab, usually called Settings. You should see two monitors displayed on top part of this page. One of these (most likely #2) is your TV. Click on #2 monitor and check the box that reads "Extend my Windows desktop to this screen" (or words to that effect). Be sure you have the TV turned on and facing you because you may find yourself clicking on icons on the TV screen. You'll probably have to play with which is primary display because some video players have trouble playing to a secondary screen. You may also try the Fn+F8 (CRT/LCD) button on your laptop (those are the keys on my Dell). That may turn on the TV-out on the laptop. Lastly, remember that this will only get you video. You'll have to connect a 3.5 mm cable to you Line-Out port on the laptop and connect it somehow to your TV or SurroundSound speakers. There should be a audio-in port on those other devices for that. Or you can just play the sound thru your laptop speakers.
I'm not that familiar with the DVI-out but I suspect that it would work very similiarly. Good luck.
