Question about Televison & Video

Hitachi projection Thank you from the start. I have a hitachi projection that had a ic covergence problem. Fixed it for $700.oo .It is now doing the same thing 2 years later[that you see on tv screen\ picture]. I was going to throw it away untill i found this site. THANX again. I can see that the ic's have been replaced with STK392-150. I do not want to spend crazy $$ on this tv again. Can i fix this myself ,and is it even the same problem as before just because it looks the same ? How much are a pare of these ic's and do they make an upgrade of the upgrades or is something else causing the IC's to go? thank you Mike

These ICs run about $20 each. If you can solder, you can replace them. Make sure that you use plenty of heatsink compound on the backs of these when you mount them. This is the white stuff between the STK and the heatsink.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Blurred picture

Sounds like a resistor in the convergence circuits or covergence amp ICs them selves. Usually the ICs will distort the picture. My guess would be the flame proof resistors near the ICs 1 or 2 may be oen. Let me know if you need anything further.
