SOURCE: I have installed WINDOWS 7
If Microsoft didn't write a driver and if Acer didn't write a driver, your options become very limited. You can look for third party drivers or write your own.
Upgrading your operating system has dangers - one of them is older devices will not work with newer operatding systems. Microsoft has a complete listing of hardware and software known to work with each of its versions of Windows. Look here to see if your devices are listed: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx?ocid=w7cc_compatibilityb_eb85af95-d156-4b66-b107-cf5c2928eeb9_google
There may be some special instruction for you at that entry.

Currently there aren't any drivers for your computer with Windows 7. Dell only offers drivers for your computer with Windows XP or Windows Vista. I would try using the Creative Labs Webcam Driver they have for Vista. Since many things about Vista & 7 are similar, often the drivers for Vista will work with Windows 7. Go to dell.com, enter the model of your computer, choose Vista as your operating system, then go to Input Devices, choose the Creative Webcam and download the driver to your desktop (I suggest against using Dell's Download Manager, just download via your browser like you usually would). Then install the driver. With any luck your will be up and running with your webcam.

Download the install the following file for your webcam. If you get a message or warning for version incompatibility, simply ignore it. http://ftp.us.dell.com/input/CREATIVE-LABS_INTEGRATED-WEB_A06_R213648.exe

windows 7 has a compatibility program built in for addressing those issues from the previous operating system(XP)
go to start and in the search window
type in compatibility
this program will help you by running the program to test its functionality,
it will bring up a list of programs and ask you to select the program your having issues with,
then it will give your operating systems and service packs to test against,
at the end it will ask you if you want to save these settings.Y/N?
If the program runs ok then save the settings and it should continue to work from there.
Shut down and restart should embed these settings ,
Test again for function,
If no luck run the program again
You say that your system is dual booting, why?
windows 7 leaves XP for dust,
remove xp its taking up valuable space on your hard drive and possibly interfering with your systems operations,
Normally the hard drive will only allow one operating system on it,even if you have partions.
Fine tuning is all your looking for so let us know your outcome thanks
If you do a windows back up
which system is it going to back up?
normally it will write over the last backup you made and the new one replaces it,
