Question about Computers & Internet
From what I can deduce here, it seems that you the hard drive probably has had a bad sector on it.
Or there is a problem with the read/write head inside the hard drive as a result of the shock caused maybe by dropping it or hitting it on something by mistake.
In this case, what I would advise you to do is, unscrew the hard drive case and remove the Hard disk from the case, get an external hard drive case, (remember to choose the approriate type (i.e either SATA or IDE) then connect it directly to another system, through USB 2.0 this time around.
After it is being detected by the system, Perform a scan on it by:
Right-Clicking on the icon representing your hard drive, go to properties, then select tools, then select check for errors on hard drive.
After performing this, if it successfully finishes the repair, I would advise you to backup All your data from it, in case it fails later.
If this does not solve the problem, then I'm afraid you might need to replace the hard drive.
And if it repairs it, "Again" I would suggest that you just retrieve all your valuable files from it and don't fully rely on the hard drive again because of the hardware error it has developed. Just keep using it as a second.
If you cannot do this by yourself, just get a very good technician to do it for you instead.
Kindly keep me posted about the problem.
Hope it helps.
