Is this a split system (unit inside and unit outside) ? If it is there is a possibility of a condensate overflow float type switch that gets filled with condensate and shuts the unit off for a bit and then back on after water drains a little.. Let me know if this sounds right and you can look at your inside unit and locate the ports leaving the unit that go to drain,.. Is there a device installed with wires connected to it ?

Our glass top range quit last night. The breaker threw and when reset, it snaps. All 4 burners, lights, etc not working.

any electrician knows that besides a short activating a breaker , items such as leaking insulation , moisture , or control unit problems will trip a breaker
so get in an electrician to test everything

Outside unit turns on and runs for a long time by itself then shuts off. Does this all day an night long. Notice this after a circuit breaker tripped. Not breaker to unit though. Other parts of house.

You have to try resetting the system. First turn the breaker off for the condenser and wait about 20 seconds. After you turn it back on the system should reset. If you need any other Air Conditioning Repair help. Check us out online.

The outside unit only goes on if i manually push the new replaced contactor ?

Hello, you need to verify if the contactor is getting 24 volts at the side terminals. Sometimes it could be a loose thermostat wire or the thermostat itself. Easy way to check is jump the RY wire at the thermostat subbase, if this turns it on you thermostat is the problem. If this does not turn it on then you will have to check the control board inside the indoor unit and the wiring leading out to the outdoor unit.

The fan on the Ruud furnice unit runs all the time but the Ruud ac unit is not kicking on . I know nothing about any of this but would like some Ideas what I might check. I went outside and could not find...

Some Ruuds have a red rubber cap reset button on the bottom of the unit or inside. Usually the fan quits and trips the switch. Or look at the metal run cap with 3 leads on it, if it looks bulged(concave on top) and not flat and sunk in, replace that and ur good to go. Let me know. Please pull the power disconnect if you attack the cap, and write down what leads come off which terminals. azeddysac@yahoo.com

I have a rheem criterion ii a/c and furnace. The power source from the a/c outside unit is not hooked up inside. Where on the unit indoors does the wire attach.

two wires go from the inside unit to the outside unit. Y terminal and C terminal (both low voltage). Power should come from circuit breaker panel (20 or 30 amp double breaker).

Mr. Slim msz-a17na won't turn on after power outtage

after a power outage, normally as power comes back in, it's a little bit high than normal.

with a dead set that you got, it would probably be the control transformer. the primary could have been burn by a spike voltage.( sudden rise in voltage above normal).

or im sure it has a fuse. check first the fuse. if the fuse is ok, then it would be the transformer.

tnx 4 using fixya,
