Question about Lucent A2011-2 Corded Phone

Just installed an a2011-2 phone everything works but when I dial a number it brings up number then changes to dn= the number and does not dial.

    Connections are fine. Notice two things as you are dialing you do not hear it dial the number
    in your ear and then led screen will still read dn=234-3333 area code in in system. Mute is not on. Have ring tone. When call comes in led reads dn=88

    The phone is an a 2011-2 I use line one only.
    New phone. Have checked and recheck settings.
    Can not hear dialing in phone. Number is dialed
    and led screen reads DN= dial number 567-6777
    etc. But number is not dialed. Have set proper
    area code time etc. It has to be some setting I'm missing I would think. Also it does have dial tone when reciever is lifted up.

Dont worry.
DN means Dialed Number it always shows up.No problem in that check for phone connections are correct.Because when ever you dial you get this DN=the number dialed.

If you have the manual see the connection and set it properly.

Note:Your phone is ok set the connection properly.

    Is this is a new phone or old phone?If new phone please refer the manual properly and set the settings in the phone.If it is old phone the headphone soldering is needed.

    Yes the setting is the problem...But i couldn't find what settings could be wrong.Normally when you connect
    the phone every phone has dial tone and we could dial the no..But your problem is very strange.Have you tried
    Lucent customer care help.

I am trying to change my display name what does dn mean in the instuction dn+#621

Hold the DN key while pressing # then 6 then 2 then 1 would be my guess.

do yo mean DND - that would be the Do Not Disturb button - not sure what just DN would be

I have a new ds 3111 model, why do I need to dial my own area code do dial other numbers in my area code, even to dial my own number

You need not dial your area code within your code.
You can change the number of digits dialed, in this case seven digits, from the call log.
Press menu/select; Press up/dn to select call log; Then press menu/select; When in call log press up/dn to scroll through the records. All incoming calls are displayed on the screen. Although the call log entries you receive have ten digits, you only need to dial seven digits (within your zone). This is where you change the number of digits you dial within your zone. While reviewing the call log, press # repeatedly to display these dialing options.

Trying to change the display name on a DKT

DN just stands for "Directory Number", which is also another name for an extension number. That button should either say EXT______, ot DN______ or Intercom.
So, just push any of those buttons, and dial #621

How to transfer a call on Nortel Networks M3904

Use the Transfer feature to redirect a call to the appropriate person.
To use the Transfer feature to direct a call to a third party:
To return to the original call, if the transfer is incomplete:
1. Press the Transfer soft key. The other
party is on hold and a dial tone sounds.
The LCD indicator light flashes steadily.
2. Dial the DN to which the call is to be
transferred or use Personal Directory,
Redial List
, or Callers List to select a
number to dial.
3. When that number rings or a person
answers, press the Transfer soft key to
connect the calling party.
If the person called is not available,
press the line (DN) key (next to the LCD
indicator) to reconnect to the original

Need to turn off transfer callback on Norstar Meridian

Ok, well I can explain most of the programming template, but I cannot give you the exact buttons to push since each phone IS programmed differently.

-> first dial FEATURE 985 this will give you the DN(Extn) for the voicemail (record this number) and then RLS
-> now I need you to dial FEATURE 0 on your set, and press the Intercom key to ensure the extension of your set you want to change and then hit RLS.

To get into programming press FEATURE 2 6 6 3 4 4
-> Password: 2 6 6 3 4 4
Now you will see 3 arrows on your LCD
<- Heading Enter->
<- Back Next->

-> you will now see TERMINALS&SETS and press Enter (the top right arrow key) now put in the extn that you want to change.
-> you should now see the extension of the set and the name that is associated with it, press Enter (the top right arrow key) again
-> now you will see LINE ACCESS and press Next (the bottom right arrow)
-> then you will see CAPABILITIES and press Enter. now you will see FWD NO ANSWER and press Enter, and put in the DN of the voicemail you saw with the Feature 985
-> hit Next for the number of rings you want to ring at the set before going to voicemail.
-> hit next and you can now RLS to back out of programming.

Voila, that set once called will now goto voicemail.


You can get the receptionist to dial FEATURE 9 8 6 and the extension to transfer directly to someone's voicemail.

Attempting to change greeting, m7310 - password trouble

ok then the log in should be something like 1020000...

there is a way to reset the system password...
Ok there are a coupleof steps:
1. feature 985
2. The Call Pilot DN is displayed... now dial 9
3. Pswrd: RESETSMPSWD (73738767793)
4. RESET PSWD? Press YES. Login will be changed to default (1020000)

Change extension number on Nortel T7316E model

Well ~ eagleeigh731 has it mostly correct, do what he said to do and get into the programming --> find SYSTEM PRGRAMMING --> hit next until you find CHANGE DNs--> OLD DNs (this is the old extn#) 222 then type in NEW DN 431--> then hit the end or release button.
Voila your new extension is now there... to check dial FEATURE 0 then press the intercom button, the new extension should be there.

Re-setting the clock

Most Toshiba phone systems require the Date and Time be changed from port 000 or the receptionist phone. You can verify the port of the Recpt. phone by pressing the DN key and dialing # 402, the display should give you the logical and physical port of the phone you are using. After finding port 000 then press DN and dial # 652 ( for time ) and enter time in a 24 hr format including seconds, HH:MM:SS then press SDS, REDIAL. Good Luck, .....Mitelmike
