SOURCE: Wi Fi fine, ISP fine, no internet via LAN connection though.

Make sure your firewall is not blocking your ability to go to websites. I saw this the other day, somehow the users firewall was set to block all internet traffic out of the computer.

sometimes it depends on the speed of the pc or on your internet service provider or in the hub itself...try to read the specs of your hub and see how it works if it has a multiple connection...

SOURCE: Cannot connect to internet through DI-524

Try this exactly as written.

Disconnect ALL cables from the modem and router: internet cable, power, and ethernet. At your option you can leave the computers on but if this doesn't work the first time, try it with the computers off.

Connect the modem, cable, ethernet, and power. Wait until modem has botted up.

Connect power on router,
then ethernet from modem,
then one by one connect the computer ethernet lines to the router.

If necessary, turn of your computers.

If this doesn't work, get religion and start praying.

So I just got a Dell Optiplex sx280 that runs windows xp and can't connect it to the wireless internet at my house. The built-in driver is a Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller, and I don't...

Desktop computers do not usually have a wireless card installed. They will have a built-in LAN card that uses a LAN cable.
If you want to connect your computer using a wireless connection then you will need to install a wireless card in your computer and configure it to communicate with your wireless router.
Otherwise you can connect to your wireless router using a LAN cable.
Your wireless router may have built-in LAN ports and you can connect your computer to the wireless router using a network cable.

Internet explorer cannot display the webpage

That error means the network cable that runs from the modem or network hub is unplugged from your network or lan card on the back of your machine. If you need further help please repost with the type of internet connection you have (dial up, network, or cable, satelite etc..)

Had 3 d-link routers that keep giving off the error message that the "network cable is unplugged" all different models at different locations connected to differnt computers any ideas?

Hi, either there is a broken cable or faulty connector some where or the Lan card in your pc is faulty.

1/ Check all cables
2/ start with one router and connect that up by its self, without any other router.Connection should be made as close to the pc. You know the usual setup, modem, router,pc.
We are trying to narrow it down.

If pc still says network cable unplugged then make sure the lan card, in your pc is seated properly. Are you using a seperate lan card or the the motherboard connection.

I have just found that this product was discontinued in 2003,you are probably better of buying a new one.

But any how let me know how you get on.

Its always show at the the monitor the " A network cable is unplugged".

If you are connecting to the Internet using a wireless connection and your LAN card in the computer does not have a LAN cable connecting it to a hub or router then you will get a message "A network cable is unplugged".
If you don't use a wireless connection and you only connect to the your network/Internet then the problem is either the LAN cable has come loose in the computer's LAN card or at the router or the LAN cable is faulty.

Lan card toshiba wireless no working

Check this Tip for an overview
  1. Connect your PC to your router using LAN Cable: be sure you can browse internet
  2. If you cannot browse check router config with your ISP
  3. Connect to your router using IP address you find for gateway in Network status
  4. Configure your router wireless section to match with your PC card
  5. Start removing security, broadcast radio signal, create a simple SSID as network name
  6. Check if router network is seen by your PC card (when you disconnect the LAN cable and activate the wireless card)
  7. If connection is established ( near the router) try different location
  8. Reconnect cable and reconfig adding security protocol (WPA-PSK recommended) use parameters compatible with your lan card

Laptop Internet Connection

The LAN pc card on you laptop is not recognizing the connection to the router that's why you are getting an erro saying cable is unpluggged. Try to user a different ethernet cable or try the laptop to the modem check if you will still get the same error so that we'll know if its a fault with the lan card or if it's just with the cable.
