There are a few possible causes for this issue. I'm sure you have tried most of these steps but I'm going to list them any way. So we have a complete picture of the trouble shooting process.

1. Disconnect the sensor bar and reconnect it.
2. Check the sensor bar settings within the wii console. This can be done by clicking on the wii logo at the bottom left of the screen. Then within the console setting click on "sensor bar". There will be 2 options. Above TV and below TV. Verify that the correct setting is chosen.
3. Try another controller.

I hope the info listed above has helped in some way.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Neither HDMI ports. The wii can only be hooked up via AV or Component cables.

No cursor/hand appearing on Choose Language screen

Are you sure you have put that "bar" included in the box above your tv in the middle, and fully wired? Because that is what you need to be able to have your cursor on your tv screen when your wii is on. Stupid or not, also make sure the batteries are put in it the right way, that you get blue light flashing out.

Console will not do anything when start button is activated. screen on tv remains black.

The first thing you should try is another set of video cables and/or another tv. If it dose the same thing, then a cable is loose inside or the board is bad. Contact Nintendo and see if the unit is still under warranty.

First check your cable connection.
Eject the disk, if you have inside.
Unplug the console at the back
Wait 10 minutes
Plug it back in
Turn it on from the remote
Press reset if it does not show up
Hold the power button to shut it off
Turn it on once more.
If this not help may your Wii need service.

Main screen will not load the arrow

Your WII graphic chip is messed up.. It'll have to be replaced or reflowed to be fixed. Look online for "Reflowing Nintendo DS"

Or contact the place you bought it from to be directed to warranty
