Question about Umax Astra 2000P Flatbed Scanner
Looks like Umax wants you to pay for a driver/software disc.
I found this advice, i hope it works for you
go to www.umax.de and download the lpt2000.zip. activate your lpt1 in xp, also in bios to both modes with1.7. delete the windows xp twain files (store them somewhere else), but make sure no other program needs them. install the *.zip files via system/hardware through "add scanner" (or similar) and/or install these *.inf files from there. it took me a whole day to figure this out. hope this helps...after all this you can install the downloadable driver which are not compatible with xp. if it doesnt work right away, experiment for the right order of installation on your system. vista access may not run on startup, but scanning is possible after warmup.
