Are quilting feet universal for Brother sewing machines/

are you needing a quilting foot for the brother sewing machine?
some sewing machine do use universal parts and some don't.
it really depends on the name of the sewing machine and the model
number. some parts you can get from a sewing machine's part
store and others you have to go thru a dealer.

I have a Brothers 1500s. When I quilt with it the stiches skip every now an then leaving a large gap between stitches. Do I have the quilt to far up from the base of hte machine when I quilt? Should the...

Your top tension is based on the fabric thickness.. not just a number. Make a test sandwich of all the materials you are quilting with, cotton top, batting, lining, etc. Test your tension on that until you get it right.

The skipping is a symptom of a bad needle or the presser foot not having enough pressure on it. I'm not familiar with your machine so I don't know if it has the ability to add more pressure to the presser foot.

How to adjust the tension of the presser foot on a brother sewing machine model ls-2220? I am trying to lighten the pressure of the presser foot for machine quilting.

You are not actually able to adjust the presser foot. For quilting you should pick up a "free motion" foot pedal made specifically for that. They run on e-bay for roughly $10-$20. Make sure you get one that fits your type of machine.

Uneven stitches while machine quilting.

Are you using the right size needle and thread? Also, check tension recommended by your manual. Let me know if that helps, because I can ask my sister who has that machine

How you you attach the quilting foot?

If you don't have a manual to show you, you might phone your local Brother Dealer where you bought the machine & foot and they can guide you over the phone, or arrange a time for you to pop in and be shown........if this is not convenient, Brother HQ in your country should be able to assist or give guidance as to where to find a solution.
