Question about PC Laptops

Model: P-6860FX laptop dvd player and usbs are not reconized

All the usbs and the dvd player are not functioning correctly. The computer recognizes that a dvd or usb is plugged in, but it doesn't recognize that it has anything on them. The dvd player is also a burner, ironically it still can burn dvds but cant play them. The usbs and dvds do have things on them, I put them in different computers and they work fine. They even used to work in this computer. Any idea what is wrong?

thanks

Mp4 player not working

Check your MP4 player's system requirements.
Some MP4 players are only capable of working with certain operating systems and hardware, so refer to your player's documentation to ensure it is capable of functioning with your PC.
Change the USB port your MP4 player is connected to if you have confirmed your PC can function with your MP4 player.
Disconnect other USB devices, and try connecting your player to another USB port if you are still having problems.

Try restarting your PC if it is capable of working with your MP4 player.
Restarting your PC resets non-functioning USB ports, which may be your problem.

Make sure your USB cable is connected properly.
If your player requires you to install drivers, make sure you install them.

Try connecting your player to another PC to see if the new PC recognizes it.
If it does, chances are your computer does not support the hardware necessary to run your player.

Reset your MP4 player if your PC is still unable to recognize it.
Resetting your player varies depending on the manufacturer and model, so refer to your player's documentation.

Contact your player's manufacturer if you are still unable to get it to work with your PC.

Atapi model name : not installed and atapi model number : not installed

Your hard drive is missing from the system. Or, just does not recognize it. The obvious - Remove any USB devices like drives and any media from disc player. Its trying to load, but can't find bootable hard drive, CD, or USB... Remove the hard drive and reseat (reconnect). Check BIOS by pressing an F key during boot. Look on the screen for correct Function key. Might be F2 key. Verify BIOS recognizes the drive. It must be listed! There is no going forward if it's not. Check boot order and make internal hard drive first. Save and restart.

My satellite won't recognize a cd/dvd drive when I open up my computer there isn't a drive at all how can I fix this

If you don't have a cd/dvd rom drive installed on your laptop then of course your laptop would not reconize a cd/dvd rom. Is you laptop a Netbook, usually netbook does not come with a cd/dvd drive. To solve this case, you will need to buy an external cd/dvd drive and hook it up via USB.

My dvd rom is showing up on my computer but it will not reconize dvd=s or cd's

Probably a failed drive. If Windows recognizes the drive, there really is no reason that any media inserted won't be recognized except bad media or bad drive. Probably the laser is gone or misaligned. There is no fix except to replace the drive.

When you insert a DVD the drive is not reconized cant watch movies or play cds. On my DELL Inspiron

Recommend you go under Control Panel settings and look at System Settings and Devices tab. Look at the hardware list and verify there is no issue with drivers for the DVD drive (should be flagged if there is issue). May need to reinstall or get updated drivers possibly if hardware recognized, but not functioning.
