The sound is most likely the shorting of current though the blown lamp/bulb, as per the previous solution, if you haven't replaced the bulb in 12-24 months, they will blow, just as a normal light bulb, causing the loss of picture.
Please make sure to replace the lamp use hours after replacing the lamp otherwise the unit will not recognize that you have replaced the lamp and you may still experience similar problems in relation to no picture.
The method for resetting the lamp use hours can be obtained either from the authorised repair agent or from the technical support line supplied by the manufacturer.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

I have a panasonic pt-56lcx16 and it needed the bulb replaced, i got a new one and installed it. I turned on the power button on the tv, then it makes a electricity sound where the bulb is but doesnt come...

If the electricity sound was loud and static sounding then you had a short with arcing which is not good and you blew a board or the socket that the bulb went into. Check that there is current at the bulb fitting.

Sony wega kdf-50we655 went off and thier is a buzzing noise

Anything that sounds like electrical crackling will be coming from either the lamp or lamp driver/ballast boards or their interconnections. The lamp should be examined first as this is the most likely cause.

Red light flashing while green light stays on

I have the same TV, your projection bulb has quit/failed.

A loud pop was heard and the picture has gone followed by a red led fault light clicking on and off.

if your tv is less than 1 year old, and you registered it with Toshiba, you could qualify for a free replacement.

otherwise expect to pay 200.00 for a new bulb from Toshiba.

only good thing is you can replace it yourself, only tool needed is a phillips screwdriver.

you can check EbaY for prices less than 175.00 to 150.00
i am on my 3rd bulb within 4 years....

good luck!
