Ignitor works but oven does not GE xl44 gas

I have a similar problem. My burners work, the ignitor glows red, the oven does not warm at all. Worked great the night before when I made cookies, worked great in morning when husband used it, then went to make pizza for dinner and NADA!

I cannot find my manual anywhere and I thought I saved them all in the same box. Have everything but. I need help as I have company coming Friday for a week and cannot cook. Any suggestions greatly appreciated including where I can find a manual online.
Thnk ou.

Just because the igniter glows red, does not mean it is working properly. They wear with age and can become weak. This can prevent the oven from lighting. If you follow the link I provided below, it will explain how to determine if the iginiter is bad and how to replace it.

I hope you find this information helpful. If you need further guidance, please post back and let me know.

Sorry for getting back to you so late...What is the model number of your range? You have it listed under the "GE Spectra" heading, but identified it as a "GE X144". I need a more complete model number to research the information you are asking for. Please look around the oven door opening or lower drawer opening for a nameplate with model number. Some ranges will have this information on the back of the range. For quicker responses, you can go to my profile and use the "Ask Me" button.

I have a GE True Temp XL44 oven the stove burners work fine but the oven will not light. When I turn it on the oven, I do not smell any gas. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

could be a problem with the ignitor. take the racks out of the oven. remove bottom panel in oven. remove metal plate covering the flame spreader. the ignitor should now be visible. turn the oven on. the ignitor should begin to glow. if it doesn't glow bright white, or bright glow, ignitor is bad and needs to be changed.

I have a GE Kitchen range XL44, stove top burners work fine, but oven won't light??? HELP please

Unplug the range.
Remove the oven racks.
remove the oven base pan.
remove the flame spreader pan.
remove the glow bar ignitor on the left hand side of the gas burner and replace it with a good ignitor.

Used the oven on Sunday night - on Monday it wouldn't work!

Check to see if the ignitor is coming on, you will see a bright orange glow in the burner area when you turn it on. If you don't, your ignitor is burned out. It is a fairly inexpensive item and fairly easy for the do it yourselfer. Just remember to unplug your oven before you replace the ignitor.

Ge xl44 oven not igniting but burners ignite

The most common failure for a nobake on this type of oven is the bake ignitor. turn unit on and look at the bottom of the oven, you should after about 30-45 seconds see an ORANGE glow, if you do not, chances are you have a failed ignitor.Remove lower part of oven and if you have a meter, place one lead on each terminal and check for continuity( a closed circuit)
If you have an "open" circuit, the ignitor is bad

Top works bottom doesn't

I have XL44 oven JGBP26. I replaced the glow ignitore on the oven but still will not glow. I carfully tested the current to the ignitore and showed 125 volts, I also tested the resistance on the control valve lead and to ignitore and showed 1100.
