Connect optimus lab 1100 to macbook

The type of computer is not relevant. This turntable provides output at nominal "line level" and can be connected to your MacBook with a properly shielded audio cable through the audio input.

For best results, you might want to disable automatic-gain-control (AGC) in the "Sound" preferences pane in the "System Preferences" panel, and set the level manually such that the input does not overload.

As I mentioned above, the signal level is nominally "line level", and that can mean very different things depending on context. You might find that using a passive volume control (potentiometer) between the turntable and the computer's analog-to-digital converter can greatly improve the quality of sound.

I have an AIWA PX-E860 but am unable to find my manual. Can I record albums onto CD's without buying any extra equipment? Thanks!

If you can connect the turntable to a computer and when it's playing hear the sound from your computer speakers then no you don't need anything else. However you will need software to record it and put it on a CD. There are free software out there, but I wouldn't recommend downloading it, as it could be full of nasty things that you don't want on your computer. There are some cheap software packages on places like Amazon, such as Sony Sound Forge or my personal favourite Magix Audio Cleaning Lab.

Do you need I- tunes to work

No only to transfer any MP3 to an Ipod.
If you can hear the sound from the turntable on your computer, you can get software such as Magix Audio Cleaning Lab to record and convert it.

No sound from my record turntable into my computer.

If you're certain there is no sound going out of the TT...

Setting the Pre-amp Switch
For increased flexibility of use, this turntable has an internal
stereo phono pre-amplifier. The Pre-amp Selector Switch
is located under the turntable platter, in the rear-center
(Fig. 1). If the system amplifier you are using has a PHONO
input, set the Pre-amp Selector Switch to the “OFF”
position. If your amplifier does not have a PHONO input,
set the Pre-amp Selector Switch to the “ON” position and
connect the turntable’s output cables to the AUX or other
high-level input on the amplifier (described later).

Turntable operates, but no sound at all
1. The stylus guard is still in place.
2. The tone arm Lift button is pressed in.
3. Amplifier controls set incorrectly: wrong input selected,
tape monitor on, speakers switched off, etc.
4. Check the stylus on phono cartridge for correct placement.
Refer to the instructions for replacing the stylus
on page 5.
Turntable operates, but no sound, or sound not loud
enough
1. If the turntable is connected to an AUX (high-level)
input: The Pre-amp Selector Switch may be set to the
“OFF” position (phono-input level).
2. The input gain of the amplified speaker or similar
device may be too low.
3. The stylus assembly may not be fully seated in the
cartridge body.

You could also isolate the problem to either the TT or the PC by trying the TT on some other sound device like a receiver. Make sure the PreAmp Selector switch is ON and plug the TT into any AUX, CD or TAPE input.

Optimus lab 1100 Turntable won't turn!

The mechanics in your arm postion is throwing the switch. A mechanical postion switch has sliped out of postion, a arm from the toner arm post has moved to an encorrect postion, or if your turntable has a multi-album play abilty your 'next to play record' post postion sensor switch is out of postion. Last or first is your belt could fool ya. Your belt may have a weak spot on it in turn no friction underload.
