Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

So I got a new hard drive installed from Dell. Everytime I try to load Microsoft Office (even a new version downloaded from Microsoft's website) it crashes the computer. I get the blue screen that says disable caching and shadowing in the bios (don't have this option). Not sure what to do?

There is a registry error in your HD, you need to rectify that by installing any registry cleaner(try Tuneup Utility...downlaod from piratebay)...if that does not solve the issue....only a low level format can clean the HD...format your C drive only if you have multiple partitions in the HD

ERROR MESSAGE WHEN ENTERING PRODUCT KEY FOR OFFICE 2007

you should only use a genuine, unused product id or activation code with Microsoft Office 2007 or you will almost certainly have authorization problems. if you bought Microsoft Office online or instore from an authorized microsoft retailer then you would have received the product key with the software

If the product id you are confident that the product id you have been entering is definitely the correct one and is the one that originally came with the software you are trying to install, then go to the Microsoft website and under support and activation let the website scan your computer. after scanning the website will generate an activation code that will enable you to install and use the software with this particular pc.

there are some websites online which claim that you can download Microsoft Office 2007 from them but as far as i know there is nowhere on the internet where you can download a genuine copy of any Microsoft Office software except the official Microsoft website.

the only legal downloads of Microsoft products are available only from Microsoft and Microsoft do not offer downloads of old products like Microsoft Office 2007 or Office 2003. the only Microsoft Office product you can download is the trial version of whatever latest version of Microsoft Office that is available. currently you can only download Microsoft Office 2010 trial. trial versions of Microsoft Office are free to download but can only be used for the limited trial period. after the trial period ends you have to upgrade to the full version and pay Microsoft for an online activation code which unlocks the trial version's time limitation and allows you to use it indefinitely.

if you need this type of software but do not want to or cannot afford to pay what Microsoft Office costs, then you can use completely free Office software like OpenOffice, which is very similar to Microsoft Office and can even be used to open most Microsoft Office documents. you don't have to pay anything at all to download OpenOffice.

the website for Microsoft Office trial and activation code downloads is: www.microsoft.com

the website for OpenOffice is: www.openoffice.org

You did not tell me what price a software costs/ or free ?

I would advise you to buy and install only a genuine licensed version of Microsoft Office 2007 or you will almost certainly have authorization problems, which defeat the object of installing the software.

You can buy a genuine licensed version of Microsoft Office 2007 Professional Plus Edition starting from about $85 or Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus Edition for about $78 (plus shipping and packing) from (and similar websites):

I maight buy a software office 2010 here .

Your best policy would be to only buy and install a genuine licensed version of Microsoft Office Word 2010. If not you will almost certainly have authorization problems, which defeat the purpose of installing the software in the first place.

Genuine licensed version of Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus Edition for as little as about $78 (plus packing and shipping) from here (and from similar websites):

Some websites online claim that you can download Microsoft Office Word 2010 from them but to the best of my knowledge the only place on the internet where you can download a genuine copy of any Microsoft Office software is the official Microsoft website.

The only Microsoft Office product available for download is the trial version of whatever latest version of Microsoft Office that is on sale. Currently you can only download Microsoft Office 2010 trial. Microsoft Office trials are free to download but you can only use them for a limited period. After the trial period expires you must upgrade to the full version and pay Microsoft for an online activation code which unlocks the trial version and allows you to use it in perpetuity.

If this type of software is required but you do not want to or cannot afford to pay the full price of Microsoft Office, then you can use completely free Office software like Open Office, which is very similar to Microsoft Office and can even be used to open most Microsoft Office documents. You don't have to pay anything at all to download OpenOffice.

Why not buy and install a genuine licensed version of Microsoft Office Word 2007 otherwise you will almost certainly have authorization problems which will defeat the very purpose of installing the software in the first place.

You have to own the software. Without a Product Key, you cannot use it

You can use open office, which is free and does everything Microsoft Office does, but it's free! and fully compatible!

Download it here:
