How can I connect it to get the most power out of it?

What load is the amplifier designed to drive? It will only deliver maximum power into the optimum load. The loudspeakers are probably 4 Ohms, but the amplifier may well be able to drive 2 Ohms per channel. This means that you need to fit two more loudspeakers This is probably not possible. Alternatively, if the amplifier can be bridged AND can safely drive 2 Ohms bridged or 1 Ohm per channel, you should connect the two loudspeakers together (+ to + and - to -) and connect them to the amplifier output terminals indicated for bridge (often Left + and Right + but sometimes Left + and Right -). If the amplifier can't drive 2 Ohms bridged, do not connect the loudspeakers together, buy another amplifier and connect one loudspeaker to each, with both amps in bridge mode.
Remember that loudspeaker and amplifier power ratings are always massively inflated in the manufacturers' data, often by a factor of 4 and sometimes by 10 or more. You speakers may not be able to cope with a whole amplifier each, so proceed with caution.

I have Boss ar2400 4 channel amplifire.. I had connect two 15" kicker subs in bridge circuit. When i run the system it gets overheat in half an hour and goes into the protection mode. How can i solve this...

Problem is one of four things:
  • Impedance (ohm resistance) of the speakers you are using is below the amplifier's rating for operating in bridge mode;
  • You are driving the speakers at a volume exceeding the maximum power output of the amplifier;
  • The gauge of the wires you are using to connect the amplifier to the speakers is too small;
  • The gauge of the power supply wires is too small, and/or you are not using a large enough reserve capacitor at the power input
Possible solutions:
  1. If your Kicker subs are rated at 4 Ohms, and you are using them in monoblock configuration with the speakers wired in parallel (all + terminals to the + bridge output and all - terminals to the - bridge output), try either configuring your bridge circuit in a paired bridge, where a pair of amplifier outputs are bridged, each bridged pair driving a single speaker; or if your Kicker subs are rated at 2 Ohms, use a monoblock bridge driving the speakers in series (+ bridge output to + of one speaker, - of that speaker connected to the + of the other speaker, and = of that speaker connected to - of the bridge output);
  2. Turn the amplifier output down (but this is likely NOT the issue)
  3. Use speaker wire that is no smaller than 8 gauge for your application. 4 or 2 gauge wire would be slightly better but not worth the additional expense;
  4. Your power supply wire should be equal in size or larger than your speaker connector wire. Use no smaller than 8 gauge for your application. Also, use a capacitor no smaller than 2 Farads wired across the power supply input to the amplifier to compensate for pulse surges and car power dips. For your application a large capacitor will work better than an auxiliary battery or gel cell.

300W Pyramid PA305 protection light

What is the speaker load in Ohms that you are running? Or what exactly is hooked up to it? are you bridging it? The protection light will come on if the load is too much for the amp to handel. If the load (in Ohms) is less than the rated load that it can run, it will stop the output to keep the amp from self destructing. The amp will sense that the demand for power will be too high for the amps circuitry which will either make the amp get so hot that it will burn up the copper on the board or more likely burn up the power mosfetts that power the speakers. If the Ohms are within range then it will allow power to flow through the circuit until the rails that the mosfetts are bound to until they get so hot that it will go into thermal protection. So if your amp has both thermal and overload protection lights and the overload is light then the load is probably too much for the amp. if it's bridged in mono the you can only have 1 speaker setup hooked up it if it's a 2 channel amp. a 4 channel amp bridged in mono for both front and rear channels will be able to have 2 speakers rated a 4 ohms each hooked up to the amp 1 set per bridged output or channel.
Try it running in stereo with only 1 speaker per channel and see if it will produce sound. If not then you have an amp that has internal problems and will need to be serviced. Check your warranty to see if you are covered.

Subwoofers

This will depend on the amplifiers capabilities.

I will give 2 different scenarios.

#1 Stereo configuration

If the amplifier supports an RMS power output close to the RMS input power of the subwoofers then run the amplifier in stereo mode. For example 150 watts RMS X 4 channels driven at 20-20khz. (If you can provide a model # for the subs and the amp your looking at I can help you further with this decision.

Wiring for this is easy and simply involves matching the connectors for 2 of the channels (Front or Rear) to each of the subwoofers.

#2 Mono Bridged mode.

If the amplifier is lower power but mono bridgable you can bridge two Pairs of channels and power each of the subwoofers this way.

Generally speaking a 2 channel bridgable amplifier will be able to at least combine the wattage of each channel into a single monural channel and in many cases its actually higher.

So you would bridge the front 2 channels into a single bridged mode for one subwoofer. and then you could bridge the read 2 channels into another bridged mono channel for your other sub woofer.

For example if you had bridgable amplifier thats 50 watts RMS X 4 you coudl very likely (Generalization based on quality of amplifier) send 150 watts RMS to each subwoofer.

Again I would need to know what amp you're refering to to provide specific wiring instructions. Many Bridging amplifiers either have a single switch that will send them to bridged mode or you would use the positive + terminal from one channel and the negative - terminal from the other channel or a combination of both.

GEM SOUND PA-750 POWER AMP

Hello plumer,

Locate a small slide switch at the back panel of your amp.
3 terminal and if you've snapped one of the wire, you'll see where the wire goes. But if it is 2 wire and using a ribbon type, follow the arrangement of the wire. No harm to the amp if you make a mistake. if bridge, all power will be shifted ti the left channel.

Good luck,
