I have a whirlpool gas range SF387LEGW7, my wife accidentally hit the clean button so she hit cancel. The stove made a few clicking noises by the oven door. She broiled some food then the next day the oven door was locked and will not open. Holding the cancel button gives a error message of E1 F5 I tried to run the clean cycle but nothing happens. On the bake cycle the oven will heat up but the door will not open
I accidentally hit the clean button on the oven and opened the door at the same time. The locking mechanism engaged with the door open, and now the oven door won't shut and the oven will not work. All I get is a "dr" on the display for door open. I have tried the unplug. No go. Help! What can be done besides calling for service? slaur

Hello, You should be able to push cancel/off and the door should open. If the oven started the clean cycle it may not open till it has reached a certain low tempature, where the door could be opened without the intense heat of the clean cycle burning you

The first step I would recommend you to do is to turn the circuitbreaker on, then set up the oven clock. Start the self clean for anyamount of time, wait about 30 seconds and push the cancel button. Mostof the time it helps to eliminate the problem.
========================================== I've read other places that turning the fan off will unlock the oven.
The F90 fault indicates that the maximum time allowed for oven door unlock was exceeded. The control attempted to unlock the door. The door lock motor or mechanism failed to unlock the door within the maximum amount of time it is allowed to be energized by the control board.
It is unlikely that you will be able to reset this fault code. You can try to completely disconnect electrical power and leave it off for 5 minutes. After reconnecting power, the fault code will probably reappear since the control will still detect that the oven door is locked. The only way to clear the fault code is to disassemble the range and repair or reset the oven door lock assembly. You will need a service technician to complete this repair.
the oven door does lock during self clean, otherwise it will not work. however, the door is supposed to unlock after the oven has cooled. if it is still locked, turn the oven to self clean and wait about a minute and then hit cancel and see if the door unlocks. if not, there may be a probelm with the door lock mechanism. I let the door stay open, hold the switch closed with my finger, activated self clean. Let it run for a minute then hit cancel, the stove heating element shut off and the locked door blinked for 5 seconds then finally stopped. Back to normal.
Hi robertkbrown...you may want to try to following steps.....good luck my friend...chris
If ?LOC DOOR? is flashing in the display of your range or oven, and the self-clean cycle has not been selected, follow the steps below to reset your control:
1. With the door open, locate the door jamb switch on the face of the oven. It will look like a small black post or dowel.
2. Push it in until the oven cavity light goes off, indicating that the oven believes the door is closed.
3. While you hold the door jamb switch in this position, complete the following steps.
4. Press the Clean pad, wait 10 seconds.
5. When the cycle initiates, press the clear/off or cancel pad immediately to cancel it.
6. Wait 10 seconds for the display to clear.
7. The door should unlock and there should not be a need for service.
1. Press the Clean pad.
2. Close the door.
3. Slide the latch to lock the door.
4. Hit the cancel button immediately.
5. Unlock the door.
